He’s pretty much always laughing or has a smile on his face, he’s just the happiest boy
He’s not really as much of a flirt as some of the other boys but if you catch his eye he will compliment you, no doubt about that
The first time you buy a pape from him he gets so blushy and stuttery because he thinks you’re just radiant
And of course you’re super taken with that because who wouldn’t be?
You always pay him more than you have to, every time, and after you’ve known him longer you start bringing him little treats too
The first time he asks you out he gets you flowers and everything
He’s so nervous he can’t make eye contact and his face is so red and he is barely stammering out his question
But you know what he’s asking so you take the flowers and kiss him on the cheek and tell him yes

He absolutely loves to show you off and brag to the other boys about how amazing you are
When you’re with him he’s always holding your hand, or if you’re in the lodge he’s probably got you sitting on his lap with his arms around your waist
He’s always looking at you with the most adoring expression on his face

The first time he says “I love you” is a complete accident, it just slipped out while you guys were joking around and having fun
Just laughing and looking at you and “Gosh, I love you”
And you immediately blush and look down and just “Do you really mean that?”
And he starts blushing too and looks down and squeezes your hand a little and just “Yeah, I do”
So of course you say it back and he just grins and kisses you
When Elmer kisses he likes to have one hand up on your cheek and the other arm wrapped tight around your waist so he can hold you to him
When he pulls away from a kiss he’ll just stay holding you exactly like that so he can look at you and smile
Brush his thumb across your cheek just cause
He’s told you multiple times before that it still gives him butterflies whenever you look at him, let alone kiss him or tell him you love him
He always loves to give you gifts but no matter how long you’ve been together he still gets shy when he gives you something, he’s always so nervous you won’t like it
Spoiler alert: you love it every time
And not just because it’s from him, no, he just knows you so well that all of his gifts are completely spot on
He may be a newsie but your family just loves him because he is so kind and sweet and chivalrous and every other positive thing you could think to say
If your relationship starts getting super serious, though, he will 100% go and look for another job so he can provide for you if the situation ever arises
And I don’t wanna get too into this here but Elmer with kids? A+++
He’s just so positive and happy almost all the time and he gets along so well with everyone
Like if someone says they don’t like him, they’re lying

It has been almost exactly a year since the first time I posted on this account! Sorry for getting so inactive, but I’m excited to (hopefully) be back and post some more! Enjoy this first request of phase 2 of this blog!

“Connor, no! Don’t you dare come over here!” you told your boyfriend over facetime, your voice short and nasally.
“Babe, you need someone to take care of you,” he said, already standing and beginning to throw stuff into an overnight bag.
“I’ll get you sick!” you exclaimed to Connor before falling into another coughing fit. You hunched over yourself and your shoulders shook with the force, your throat feeling more and more sore with each cough.
Connor looked right into the camera when you were finished, almost as if he were staring you in the eye. “I don’t care,” he told you, and then the screen went black as he ended the facetime call and shut his laptop.
You sighed and tipped your head back while rolling your eyes, immediately regretting it when the motions sent you into another coughing fit. You reached blindly for your glass of water and all you felt was your knuckles knock against something, then you heard the thump of something hitting the floor.
When you finally finished coughing, you opened your eyes to see your glass of water spilled on the floor and soaking into the carpet. Despite yourself, tears sprang in your eyes and you tried your best to sniffle around your stuffed nose.
And of course, with your luck, Connor picked the exact moment you started crying to burst through your front door.
“Babe? What’s wrong?” he asked, furrowing his eyebrows as he came around the couch to face you.”
“I-I do need your help, Connor, an’ I’m sorry I said I didn’t!”
“Sweetheart,” Connor said softly as you felt him sit next to you. One of his hands reached up to brush your tears off your cheeks and lingered there even after he had finished. “You don’t need to apologize. I’m here to help you and everything will be okay and that’s what matters, isn’t it?”
You coughed softly once then cracked open your reddened eyes to look at Connor, your face still sporting a frown. “I guess so. Thank you for coming.”
Connor smiled, pressing a kiss to your forehead as he stood. “I have some decongestants for you, a heating pack just because they’re nice, and some chicken soup,” he listed, pulling the items from a bag set next to the couch. “I’ll get you a new glass of water so you can take some of these pills, then I’m gonna warm up the heating pad and make you the soup. Sound good?”
You nodded gratefully up at Connor, relaxing back into the couch and turning on the TV. As you were flicking through channels, Connor came back with a new glass of water and a towel, which he placed over the old spill and stepped on to get it to soak up some water.
You opened the box of decongestant pills as Connor left the room, and then you heard the microwave start. You popped one of the pills into your mouth and chased it with a big drink of water, hoping that it would work quickly.
You sort of zoned out for a bit, until you saw Connor re-entering the room and carefully carrying a bowl and a towel. He set the bowl down on the table and spread the towel on your lap, then grabbed the bowl to give to you.
“Careful, it’s hot,” he warned you, and you shivered slightly as your hands touched the heated ceramic of the bowl. “I’ll be right back, I’m gonna warm up that heating pad.”
You gave Connor a soft smile in return, and his face quickly relaxed. He was up and out of the room in a second, and then you heard the microwave start again.
You ate the soup ravenously, unaware of how hungry you had actually been. You finished quickly, and your nose had even cleared up enough by the end that you could smell the soup left in the bowl.
Finally, Connor returned, and you traded him the empty bowl for a heating pad with a grateful smile. In the kitchen, you could hear him run the sink, and then the clatter of the bowl being set down, and then he was joining you again.
“I’m feeling better already,” you said as Connor sat next to you and threw his arm around your shoulders. You hugged the heating pad to your chest and leaned into him, resting your head on him.
“Yeah? I’m glad,” Connor replied, gently rubbing up and down your arm with his hand.
“Thank you for coming to take care of me,” you said, your voice suddenly softer. You looked down at your hands and for whatever reason, you could feel a blush rise on your cheeks.
“You don’t have to thank me, I told you that,” Connor responded immediately, subconsciously tugging you slightly closer to him.
You stifled a yawn, snuggling into him farther. “But I wanna.”
Connor smiled at your lazy and slurred voice, realizing how tired you were, and finding it quite adorable. “Wanna go sleep in an actual bed?” he asked, looking down at you.
Your eyes fell shut despite how hard you tried to keep them open, and you shook your head. “Mm-mmh. Layin’ down isn’t good with a stuffy nose.”
Connor nodded and relaxed a bit more into the couch, shifting just enough that his chest was a comfortable place for you to rest your head, laying far enough down that you could sleep but not so far that it would be uncomfortable because of your sickness.
You gratefully snuggled into Connor, humming a tiny noise of approval as he hugged you close to him.
“Thank you,” you mumbled again, already half asleep.
“Time to sleep now, babe,” Connor said, kissing your forehead. “I promise I’ll be here when you wake up.”
You were out before Connor even finished his sentence, and he pressed another small kiss to the top of your head before closing his own eyes as well.
The two of you slept like that for God knows how long, pressed into each other and probably not the most comfortable how you were on the couch, but neither of you could really find it in yourselves to care.
I see I’ve gotten some new followers and I really appreciate it!! Yesterday was the one year anniversary of this blog and I can’t wait to get back into it! I have some chores to do today but I do have a new request waiting in my inbox that I will get done as soon as possible! Thank you all for your support!!!

Whatever’s got you down, just know it will pass. Keep your head up and keep trucking forward! I just went through a rough spot myself and I know it can be hard to see that there’s an end to all of this. Just remember there are always people out there rooting for you. I’m rooting for you.
Finals week was finally over.
You thought that sentence would never be true, but walking out of your last exam lifted a weight off your shoulders that had been a burden on you for weeks. The stress had really gotten to you, and the people you held closest had noticed.
Jack had gotten the brunt of your anxieties. He had wanted nothing more than to be there for you, but you pushed him away the past few weeks as your worried mind controlled your thinking. Nothing mattered more to you than passing your finals. You had rejected date proposals from him, help studying from him, any excuse he could find to hang out with him, you turned him down. You felt awful about it, but you needed to focus.
As the pressure from tests wore off, the stress had put on your relationship set in. You neared your apartment and started to ponder what you could do to relieve the tension to pulled in.
Reaching your door, you realized it was unlocked, something you never did. Slowly opening the door, you expected the worst. Silently, you cursed yourself for making such a dumb error.
Everything was as you left it as you observed your apartment. Your coats were on the hook and your extra money was still in the small table near the door. Confused, you continued through your front hall.
As you entered the living room, you are caught off guard by the man in front of you holding flowers.
“Jack! You scared me!” you yelled at him as you rushed to him, engulfing you in a hug. “What are you doing here?”
He smiled down at you from within your embrace. “I noticed how stressed you’ve been and decided to get something together,”
You looked around your living room. In addition to the flowers he brought you, he also had prepared chocolate-covered strawberries and selected a few of your favorite films, all of which were laid out on the coffee table.
“Jack,” you breathed, a smile never leaving your face. “You really didn’t need to do this,”
“Yeah, but I wanted to,”
The rest of your day was spent in his arms, your head on his shoulder, watching movies that you adored. The smell of him brought a comfort to your heart you hadn’t felt in weeks. It wasn’t hard to start to doze off as he held you tightly to his chest.
Your breath evened and he assumed you’d fallen asleep.
“You’ll never know how much I love you,” he murmured before slowly placing a delicate kiss on the top of your head. You snuggled closer to him, wrapping your arms tighter around his waist.
“I love you more,” you whispered, before falling asleep in his safe arms.
