My good friend Sarah sent me this for Peace-week of advent… she said her mum used to sing it to her growing up. lovely close against your head recording.
this week is for thoughts of peace.
screen grabbing email pictures
took this photograph just over a year ago in Chicago. Sister Gertrude Morgan waiting in advent, sweeping anticipates, makes a red road, makes her white clothes look like love.
there will be some more advent-sound-art coming soon but to start off, here's an extract from a track called With A Hammer In His Hand, Who Is Not All The Longings Of A Violent Man? a work in progress soon to be released.
advent bursting with hope, starts with a candle, a small light. evergreen for eternal, blue ribbon for the sky, waiting and looking, still the small light comes into the world.
William Blake - To Autumn.
O Autumn, laden with fruit, and stained
With the blood of the grape, pass not, but sit
Beneath my shady roof, there thou may'st rest,
And tune thy jolly voice to my fresh pipe;
And all the daughters of the year shall dance!
Sing now the lusty song of fruits and flowers.
'The narrow bud opens her beauties to
'The sun, and love runs in her thrilling veins;
'Blossoms hang round the brows of mourning, and
'Flourish down the bright cheek of modest eve,
'Till clust'ring Summer breaks forth into singing,
'And feather'd clouds strew flowers round her head.
'The spirits of the air live on the smells
'Of fruit' and joy, with pinions light, roves round
'The gardens, or sits singing in the trees.'
Thus sang the jolly Autumn as he sat,
Then rose, girded himself, and o'er the bleak
Hills fled from our sight; but left his golden load.
some advent music to recap, renew, refind your waiting.

Peace be with you.
Advent almost concluded, so to waiting and to keep on waiting for it is not the end of the world, nor is it the beginning, but it is the world loved dearly. And though we will all be doing our things on Christmas day, tomorrow will hold the release of the Peacebird-Advent-Album. Peace be with you.
