I worry a lot about how to carefully introduce the reader to the fantasy world they are unfamiliar with when the main characters are; how to do it without overwhelming the reader. I decided to re-read Game of Thrones to remember how it was done there and...

I am in awe at the sheer audacity to lore dump so much in the first 3 chapters. It's so unapologetic, I can't help but respect it. But I wonder if I would have continued with a book like that without being familiar with the lore beforehand. I honestly don't know if that would have intrigued me, or I would have dropped it, out of frustration. The prose is beautiful, so I think I would have continued it.

p.s. I don't think the reader needs to be spoon-fed the lore; but if you have time, check out the beginning of The Game of Thrones - it's A LOT of lore, history, and names from the get-go

I think the best part about the two dragons being romancible in Fields of Mistria, is that it makes it 10 times funnier if you are dating a regular villager (excluding Juniper). Like, you have TWO god-like mystical beings with a fated bond between your souls, but your heart is won over by a sweet carpander who likes birds

Every few months, I like to check the latest chapter of 100 year quest. I have 0 idea what is even going on anymore.

There are a lot of Dragons, Selen is on our side, and she and her ex - the Water Dragon - are inside Lucy? Wait did she summon the water dragon with key? I think there was a cyborg girl at some point and alchemy? And more demons again? And people were turning into dragons? Irene was redeemed, I think? Lexus is not a dragonslayer anymore, but he kinda is? And he is getting a cat, who is on fire, and called Misfortune, and a better love interest to Happy. There were more parallel versions of all characters, but they were called Fairy Nail, and Grey and Juvia were strippers. And our guild was brainwashed and turned into a cult wearing just robes. I think Igneel's son was fighting a nun. Grey and Juvia are trying to sacrifice themselves again, which is nice. I haven't seen Makarov in forever, but I'm sure he will outlive them all

Seeing comments like Rhaenyras REIGN is a disaster, when it has been what? 2 days? is insane to me

wow, the idea of seeing what each girl's "ideal" life with Gero is SO GOOD! It's such a good writing decision to show how different they are, what they look for in a relationship, and how they see Gero (which can also highlight the aspects where they wouldn't work as a couple in reality) I am so excited for the next chapters TT-TT

Dying will flames, rings, and boxes are a major part of the Reborn's power system, but I really-really love the battles before they were introduced. There is something so incredibly charming about battles that make no sense yet aren't magic: Gokudera can perfectly direct his dynamite, sure! Yamamoto swings the bat so fast it turns into a katana, I love it (even the waterbending)! Ken nearly transforms into an animal by changing his teeth. Incredible! Mukuro casts illusions and possesses people by cutting them with his trident. Tell me more! Bianchi can apply poison through her skin. Just M.M. and Chikusa. Shamal weaponized every disease known and unknown to mankind. Do you remember that time Ryohei used his sweat to break lightbulbs? Levi uses lightning umbrellas, oh, and Lambo is lightning-proof by the way. I-pin blows up! You know that Bel's bullshit shouldn't work either, but who cares?! I LOVE IT ALL

Kyoko inherited all those artworks that were stained in misery, only to make it her life's goal to make things right (and abolishing that "legacy/inheritance") is such an interesting parallel to Gero and Poison Clan

Ureshino wanting to change BEFORE meeting Gero is so important to me Just the fact that the girls are the ones affecting Gero makes me so happy

The thing that fascinates me about the way women are written and drawn in Marriage Toxin, is that it gives me a strong feeling that it's done by someone who LOVES women (to a degree that I would expect from a woman)
