BIOGRAPHY
Trigger Warnings: Childhood neglect, parental abandonment, substance abuse
Peach Windermere never really belonged anywhere.
Born on November 14th, 1997, in Marietta, Georgia, Peach spent the first years of her life surrounded by the ideals of the 1970s despite being born decades later. Her parents, Freddie and Jolene Windermere, were modern-day hippies who believed in peace, love, freedom, and living without restraint. Unfortunately, that carefree lifestyle came with heavy drug use and poor decisions. When Peach was still very young, both of her parents were arrested, leaving her to be raised by her paternal grandparents.
Life under their roof couldn't have been more different.
Where her parents embraced freedom, her grandparents demanded discipline. They valued achievement, education, and appearances above nearly everything else. Peach, however, struggled from the beginning. Undiagnosed dyslexia made reading feel like trying to untangle a thousand knots, but instead of receiving help, she was labeled lazy, careless, and unintelligent. Teachers overlooked the signs. Her grandparents only reinforced what the school told them, convinced she simply wasn't trying hard enough.
Eventually, Peach started believing them.
School became something to survive rather than enjoy. Every failed test, every disappointed sigh, and every comparison chipped away at her confidence until she finally dropped out before graduating. By sixteen, home felt less like a family and more like a prison. So one night, she packed what little she owned and left without looking back.
For years, the road became her only address.
She hitchhiked across the United States, eventually falling in with a loose-knit community of travelers, musicians, artists, drifters, and seasonal workers. They taught her that there were different ways to measure a person's worth. She learned to paint murals on abandoned walls, dance barefoot around campfires, fix engines just enough to keep them running, and earn her keep through whatever honest work she could find. Farms, diners, festivals, construction cleanup, dog walking, bartending, fruit picking—if someone needed an extra pair of hands, Peach was happy to help.
Eventually she scraped together enough money to buy an aging Volkswagen van that looked ready for retirement long before she bought it. The faded paint, mismatched doors, and stubborn engine only made her love it more. Over the years it became less of a vehicle and more of a home. She patched leaks herself, built a tiny sleeping platform inside, and learned to live comfortably with very little.
Peach never stayed anywhere long.
She chased sunsets instead of promotions, friendships instead of permanence, and memories instead of possessions. She never cared much for expensive things or fancy careers. Freedom became the one thing she refused to sacrifice.
By July 2026, her wandering brought her to Kismet Harbor. Something about the quiet coastal town felt different. Maybe it was the slower pace. Maybe it was the people who seemed to carry their own stories without asking questions about hers. She parked her van near Driftwood Haven, picked up odd jobs around town, and—for the first time in years—considered staying somewhere longer than a season.
