I watched the gameoverse pilot, I thought it was a charming and I like the art style. However I have some issues with it, one being it’s portrayal of women.

I have absolutely no issues with curvy women getting representation in media, thats awesome!! The more body types out there being shown the better one thousand percent absolutely yes. But when every single woman has the exact same ‘curvy’ body type except for the played-for-laughs ugly girl it gets frustrating . And also the fact that all these women have NO waist, skinny arms, skinny necks, no stomach fat, nothing, its hard to get behind.

All of the men get varied body types, but all the women get the same exact hourglass figure. I’m sick of seeing this over and over again.

Its sooooo aggravating to see an indie project like this and I do genuinely want to support it but this was really disappointing.

Before people say “ oh its the art style, its the art style!!!” I did some quick edits to show you CAN have a curvy woman with a more realistic body type in this style (and to me personally it looks a lot better), it was a deliberate choice not to.

I think you get my point. I have more to say but I’ll wait to see more from the series to give it a fair shot, since this is just its pilot. This isnt me hating on the show, just extremely disappointed with how most of its female cast is drawn.
