Coming back to Truthless Recluse. I think it would've been better if SM taunted PV on how he endangers others to do his work (ex: the Gingergang). Him realizing the Truth he fought to protect was nothing but biterness, hence becoming the Truthless Recluse.

I feel like he would protect the kids by sacrificing himself to stay in the Spire so that the kids could escape the Spire and find the rest of the Ancients. As an apology to them.

I've always interpretated truthless recluse/pyuva as a trans allegory. pyuva themselves represents accepting one's truth, but truthless recluse is the dark reflection of that truth. the never being "real," the constant dysphoria, and the horrible realization that you'll never be truly whole.

awakened pyuva is the acceptance despite that.

I do see where you're coming from! I actually didn't think about rewriting Truthless Recluse until you mentioned it. Ideally, yes, I would rewrite them to be more or less bitter. I think Truthless is a very grey character, and I want to embrace that by having an arc where Pure Vanilla has to realize that the truth can be bitter, and embracing it also means living with the pain of it. I feel like Truthless Recluse touched on that, but there wasn't much of a "lesson" learned, so to speak. Besides, we never see Pure Vanilla mention being Truthless Recluse in game at all. I'll expand on this more later, but I do see your vision!
