Just finished the "To Slay a Snow Woman" arc 😭🤧👏
Guilty by Ai Okaue
Guilty is a sleazy story about love between adults. It’s also a story about betrayal, marriage, and motherhood. Guilty is a wild ride, a melodramatic soap opera, and a thriller. The series is complete at 13 volumes and available on a variety of digital stores and streaming platforms. I highly recommend Guilty to anyone looking for a drama thriller with a romantic twist. I also recommend it for anyone looking for a manga for adults. Finally, if you happen to be a fan of Ai Okaue’s writing and earlier shoujo works like Bambi to Dohle, I’ll recommend Guilty to you too. Much like Natsumi Ando with Something’s Wrong With Us, Ai Okaue has grown with her audience. Love to see it.
Kodansha USA has no plans of releasing Guilty physically as of this post. However, Kodansha USA will be publishing Ai Okaue’s current series Roar: A Star in the Abyss (Roar: Naraku no Heroine) in print in Spring 2025. Roar is a revenge thriller manga presently serialized on Palcy, and it sounds just as fucked up as Guilty. I can’t wait to read it. In the meantime, read (or reread) Guilty.
Check out Guilty via Kodansha’s site here. (You can read the first chapter for free there too!)
(Check out my full review of Guilty on my website.)

Reading Log: October 2023
Hey,
Here's what I read in October!
Manga I Read:
Spy x Family ch. 86-87 🆗 (forgot I read these in September 💀)
I Guess I Became the Mother of the Great Demon King's 10 Children in Another World v. 8🙈🎪👩🎤 (We're nearing the end of the series. This volume reveals the truth about the human and demon war. Neuf, Huit, and Sept's powers are revealed, and the volume ends on a cliffhanger as Akari sacrifices herself to save her kids.)
Anime I Watched:
Case Closed: The Culprit Hanazawa - I watched the first few episodes (dubbed). The show is hysterical. It's a spoof comedy of the Case Closed/Detective Conan franchise where you follow the perp (you know, the silhouette person) as he moves to Beika Town to do some crimes and fails miserably. If you've watched a good amount of Detective Conan/Case Closed. then this is a must watch! These episodes are short, only five minutes, and the whole series (season 1) is available on Netflix. I'll finish this show in November. I anticipate November/December being heavy anime months as the holidays roll in and the snow piles outside my window.
The Culprit Hanazawa opening XD
That's It.
What did you read/watch?

What's in your anime Halloween playlist?
Tumblr Boy Love Relationship Bracket!
There's been a lot of Yaoi brackets going around, but none for ACTUAL Yaoi or BL! So I want to fix that and am taking submissions here!
RULES
1) MUST be Canon, or at least Word From God. The pairing must have been properly established as a couple beyond all reasonable doubt. Angsty "We desperately wanted to be a couple but society tore us apart" type relationships are allowed, but just no head-canons or queer bait.
2) MUST be from an actual BL or BL adjacent Manga/Manhua/Manhwa. For example, Aoki X Ida from "My Love Mix-Up" would be okay even though it's a Shojo because their love story is the main focus, but Touya X Yukito from "Cardcaptor Sakura" would not be allowed because the main focus is Sakura catching cards. Side couples are fine too, so long as they are from an existing BL story, and not just the gay best friends.
3) Submit couples alphabetically in Name X Name format, no ship names please as these can get confusing. I have given 3 options in the form to submit series/ships but you do not need to fill them all out if you do not wish to.
4) Trans Masc/Non Binary characters are of course allowed! But please use your discretion. King's Beast is not a BL just because Rangetsu is pretending to be a boy. She still identifies as a woman throughout.
5) Submissions will be open for 2 weeks before being sorted into brackets, then individual polls for 3 days each until we have a winner!
6) Have fun and be nice to each other!
Reading Log: August & September 2023
Hey-O,
Here's what I read in August!
Manga I Read:
(Lots of re-reads this month!)
Don't Call It Mysteryv. 1 (re-read) 😁❤
Pretty Boy Detective Club v. 1 (re-read) 😆😬😑🆗
Lost Lad London v. 1-3 (completed!) 🇬🇧🍺 (good show but a little rushed at end)
Beauty & the Beast of Paradise Lost v. 1 (re-read) 🆗
Usotoki Rhetoric v. 2 😊
Yakuza Lover v. 6-8 😆🙈😍 (Mofo bought her an island. 🥲 I want an island but will settle for a house. 😞)
Bite Maker v. 7 🤭🙈 👍
The Villainess and the Demon Knight v. 2😍
Something's Wrong With Us v. 16 😍 (Great ending and I bet you can't guess who dun it. There are 3 more volumes of epilogue and short stories to still read!)
Spy x Family ch. 83-85 🆗
I didn't read anything in September! I was too busy moving. Hopefully, I can cram some new reads in by the time October ends.
I didn't watch any anime in August and September.
So, what did you read (and watch)?
Reading Log: July 2023
Hey-O,
Here's what I read in July!
Manga I Read:
🌟Outbride v. 4 🙈😍 🌟Something's Wrong With Us v. 15 😍 🌟Ladies on Top v. 2 😃 🌟Spy x Family ch. 83 🙂👍 🌟Moriarty the Patriot v. 1-2 🙂👍 🌟Kakuriyo Bed & Breakfast for Spirits v. 1 😑 (prefer the anime so far)
Highlights:
Outbride v. 4
As far as Steamship manga releases go, Outbride ranks high on my list. Each volume gets better. Mashiro spends time with Fei Shen and Oma in this volume.
Something's Wrong With Us v. 15
We've hit the series' climax! The killer is revealed, and you won't guess who it is. V. 16 ends the series, and v. 17-19 is an epilogue and short sequel series. We do get those volumes! I can't wait to read the conclusion and the sequel!
Moriarty the Patriot v. 1-2
The first volume is much more engaging than the first episode of the anime. It's a new take on Sherlock Holmes and his arch nemesis Professor Moriarty. As the title implies, the story is from Moriarty's perspective as he takes on the nobility and class system. First volume and change is all about Moriarty. The second volume introduces Sherlock and Watson. They're all young around 21 so that's interesting. I'm going to keep reading the series rather than watch it for now.
Anime I'm Currently Watching
Just one show this time. I'm watching The Titan's Bride dubbed. 🙈
Ascendent Animation, the licensor and dubbing company, boasted about winning an award for the show on its website, and yeah. It deserves it for the moans alone.
That's It!
What are you reading (and watching)? Let me know below!
Sleepy time ✨
Reading Log: June 2023
Hey-O,
We're half way through the year, and I might have peaked this month. I read the most stuff in June! Let's speed through it.
Manga I Read:
📚After School Charisma v.1 📚Don’t Call It Mystery v. 1 📚I Guess I Became the Mother of the Great Demon King's 10 Children in Another World v.6-7 📚Is Love the Answer? (complete/oneshot) - reviewed on blog! 📚 Limit vol. 1-4 📚My Secret Affection v.1 📚Prince Freya v.3-8 (caught up with Eng releases) 📚Spy x Family ch.81-82 📚Something's Wrong With Us v.14 📚Star Crossed v.1-4 (complete) 📚The Heiress and the Chauffeur v.1-2 (complete) - reviewed on blog! 📚Titan's Bride v.1 📚To Strip the Flesh (complete/oneshot) - reviewed on blog! 📚 To Your Eternity v. 18 (I think I skipped v. 17, whoops!) 📚Touring After the Apocalypse v.1
So, about 27 volumes and 2 chapters of manga if my math is correct!
Highlights:
Don't Call It Mystery v. 1
So, I finally read the first volume of Don't Call It Mystery, and I really enjoyed it! A smart, college kid with a penchant for curry gets caught up in mystery after mystery. The series is released as an omnibus, and this first book covers 3 cases and leaves us at the beginning of a 4th case. The next volume will come out on August 29. Looking forward to it!
Limit v. 1-4
Limit is the 6-volume series by Keiko Suenobu, the same mangaka of Life and the sequel Life 2. Life and Life 2 are presently being released digitally via Kodansha. As of this post, Limit is still physical only through the Vertical imprint.
So, Limit is an old series that I never read. I'm reading it presently through my local library, and I'm enjoying this series thus far. The female main character is part of the school bully group. She boards a bus with the rest of her friends and classmates to go to a remote campsite when the bus crashes. The majority of the class dies leaving behind a handful of girls, mostly the girls she bullied while at school. Ruh-oh. The group struggles to survive. Psychological drama ensues.
Hopefully, Kondasha will re-release the series or make it digital as it's on the older side being released in 2012.
Prince Freya v. 3-8
So, I read Prince Freya up to the latest release vol. 8 via my local library, and I enjoyed it so much that I decided to grab a set for myself. I think that's the highest level of praise I can give any manga series. 🤷 Action galore, plot-driven, zero to hero heroine, reverse harem, impersonation and genderswapping shenanigans, enemies unknowingly meet each other, shocking beginning, binge-able series...I can go on. It grabbed me from the get-go, and presently it's keeping me seated. Fair warning: stop at vol. 7 because vol. 8 starts a new arc.
Anime I'm Currently Watching
✅ The Marginal Service ep. 1 - sub ✅ Moriarty the Patriot Season 1 ep. 1 - dub ✅ My Home Hero ep. 9-12 (complete season 1) - sub ✅ Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion ep. 2-8 - sub
The Marginal Service ep 1. (sub)
This is the original anime with the mostly naked dudes teaser. You know, this one. I saw the first episode and eh... It's a sci-fi action show following a cocky cop as he gets his partner killed and fired from the force only to join a secret ragtag government-sanctioned group to kill monsters. Not the most original or well-executed premise. Probably will just skip this one entirely.
Moriarty the Patriot Season 1 ep. 1 (dub)
I know. I'm like the last person to watch this show so stuff it. I put it on the back burner because it was getting greenlit for multiple seasons and I rather spend my time watching the anime that's complete in one season, an original anime, or anime at risk of not getting another season. With that said...
I watched the first episode, and it started off a little weird with the flash forward to 1911 NY only to flashback to 1800s London with no connective tissue in between? Needless to say, the first episode did not grab me, but I'll continue with this one...slowly. Voices were good. I like watching dub too. 🤷 It's 2023. Let people live.
My Home Hero ep. 9-12 (Season 1 complete, sub)
I really enjoyed My Home Hero. The characters were great. The story was great. The animation was... interesting. They tried to make that budget work 2003 style, but I really liked some aspects of it. For example, when Tetsuo was being interrogated with a bag over his head around ep 3, we got the scene from his perspective. The animation was from his perspective. He thought he was outside about to be thrown off the top of a building when in reality he was being thrown off a scaffold in a warehouse. That was cool.
Overall, I enjoyed season 1. I hope there is a season 2 because there is more to this manga. According to MangaUpdates, the anime adapts from volume 1 up to volume 6, chapter 40. If no more seasons are to be had, then at least we're given a full complete arc. We're left with Tetsuo "getting away with his crime." I have no plans to read the manga right now, but maybe later down the road, like way later because my list is full.
If you're in the mood for a psychological thriller drama, then check out My Home Hero!
Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion ep. 2-8 (sub)
Weird cgi and background characters aside, still really enjoying this series. Not much to add from my comments last time. They're hot. It's fun. See for yourself. 🤷
That's it
Watch are you peeps reading and watching? Let me know!
Reading Log: May 2023
Hey, hey, hey! Here's what I read (and watched) in May!
Kowloon Generic Romance v. 1
The series is off to an intriguing and promising start. In this first volume, we follow a real estate agent as she navigates Kowloon Walled City. If you're looking for a slice-of-life drama romance set in a dystopian city, then check it out. (Full v. 1 review on my blog.)
Love and Lies v. 7-13 (complete)
I finally finished Love and Lies, and it was alright. I really wished Nisaka was the main character rather than Neji's bland ass, but eh, what can you do? (I review the full series on my blog.)
Spy x Family ch. 80
Ch. 80 wraps up the whole drunk Yor silliness and transitions into a new arc where Operation Strix is in trouble due to a mole inside the organization. It's a race between Westalis's greatest spies and Ostania's secret police to get to the mole. In other words, it's Twilight v. Yuri!? I'm looking forward to more plot. :)
Skip, Beat v. 48
Lotus in the Mud arc reached a crucial scene, the mysterious producer for Kanae's project appears and he has a flair for cosplay that rivals the Love Monster XD, and the volume ends with Ren. XD Now, I have to wait again. :(
Prince Freya v. 1-2
ACTION GALORE. This had me hooked from ch. 1. Ch. 1 could have easily been the entirety of vol. 1. There was so much going on! I love the heroine; she's a crybaby who has to step in and assume the prince's identity to save her home village and the rest of the kingdom. I like "zero to hero" characters so I am looking forward to this girl becoming a true badass.
Who Made Me A Princess v. 1
It's finally here! I enjoyed reading the series digitally so I'm glad to have it in print now. Who Made Me A Princess is one of the first few manwha/webtoons that I've read. I'm still pretty new to the manwha/webtoons scene. Looking for a few more to be published in print or receive a wider release outside of the digital subscriptions.
Anime I'm Currently Watching
I watched and LOVED the following anime:
✅ Buddy Daddies ep. 9-12 (complete) ✅ My Home Hero ep. 1-8 ✅ Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts ep. 1 ✅ Why Raeliana ended Up at the Duke's Mansion ep. 1
Buddy Daddies ep. 9-12 (complete)
I finally completed the series, and I loved it! The series is an action comedy following two assassins who are stuck taking care of a 4-year-old because they killed her dad! XD Over the course of the 12 episodes, you learn more about the assassins, Rei and Kazuki. The central conflict is doing their jobs while taking care of a girl and being a family. Rei and Kazuki aren't "cannon gay," but they are "queer-coded." I have a few gripes about the show like Miri's mom, the treatment of other female characters, and the recap episode 8.5 (which I skipped), but overall, I enjoyed the show from start to finish. I'm not pining for a season 2 as the show feels complete. (subbed)
My Home Hero ep. 1-8
I binged watched this a few weekends back, and I loved it! Hapless salesman and mystery aficionado kills his college daughter's abusive boyfriend. The abusive boyfriend has ties to the yakuza, and the yakuza's search for the abusive boyfriend leads back to our lead Tetsuo. Things spiral out of control quickly. It's a family affair as Tetsuo and his wife figure out how to survive the entire ordeal. Both of them are smart characters, and they work really well together and separately. Be warned—This show is a thriller and constantly ends on cliffhangers. Looking forward to watching more! (subbed)
Sacrificial Princess and the King of Beasts ep. 1
Sariphie is brought to the castle as a sacrifice. Instead of being eaten, she becomes betrothed to the king. The king is half-human. He turns human on the night of the new moon, and he is FINE. Art is great. Production is great. Overall, great first episode. I shall be watching more. (subbed)
Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion ep. 1
(watched subbed) Long title. Mystery romance set in a fantasy world. Our heroine Hinasaka Rinko has been killed and reborn as Raelana, the supporting character of a fantasy romance novel. Refusing to die twice, she sets off to prevent her own death only to change the course of the novel...and ends up in the Duke's mansion as his (fake) betrothed. The opening and ending songs were great. The animation is great. Everything about this first episode is great. I shall be watching more with some fine wine in my hand because...GIRL.
This clip here.
Both Sacrificial Princess & Duke's Mansion deserve my undivided attention. So I'll watch when I have time to savor both shows. 😏
That's it
Enough of my thirsty ass. Watch are you peeps reading and watching? Let me know!

Reading Log: April 2023
Hey-o,
Welcome to my reading log. Here's what I read (and watched) in April!
Came the Mirror & Other Tales (one-shot)
Re-read the collection of stories by Rumiko Takahashi. Short review: it's a must-have for any Rumiko Takahashi fan. The short story collection is a mixture of mystery and horror stories with some humor thrown in. The best story is saved for last. Check out my blog for the full review!
Spy x Family ch. 78, short mission 10, ch. 79
The Handler and Yor have a slice-of-life chapter, and the short mission chapter is an Anya school chapter. No plot, but these chapters are entertaining as always.
Something's Wrong With Us v. 13
Plot thickens. Nao and Tsubaki learn about some dark secrets. I am still loving this series as usual. Getting closer to the conclusion of this series!
Love is an Illusion! v. 2
This volume covers ch.20-39, and it covers Hye-Sung's pregnancy and birth. Halfway through the series, and I can't wait to get the rest of the books on my shelf!
Last, but not least, I read...
Bite Maker: The King's Omega v. 1-6
I re-read my 1-6 volumes so I could write a part 1 review for my blog. In short, the series is cringe thus far, but I enjoy it. Read my full review here.
Anime I'm Currently Watching
*Gestures wildly at my username*
In all seriousness, I'll get back on the anime train in a bit. This month, May. Hopefully.
The End
What are you reading? (And watching?) Let me know!!
