[There's a present on your dorm's doorstep. It is neatly wrapped and has a cute Christmas tag reading "To Pearl, from Ash". It's contents are red and green tissue paper for padding, and inside is a green scarf, made from a soft wooly material, and a coat. Along with it is a note: "Sorry if it's a sucky gift! Dia and I didn't have many ideas about what to get you, so I followed mom's advice and "played it safe. Merry Christmas Pearl!".]

Pearl couldn't help but grin slightly. So Ash consulted with Dia, but they still didn't know what to get? Was he really that bad?

"Geez, I'm terrible..." he said, although laughing as he said it. The scarf looked a lot warmer than his current one... it also wasn't worn down from ages of use, so that was a plus. And as loathe as he was to admit it, he hadn't thought he needed a coat when he was packing, considering Hoenn's climate; but the temperature had taken a steeper drop than he'd expected, and he was suffering from it.

Heh... 'Playing it safe' was a good choice. Thanks, guys.

“Ohhhh… uhm okay. Well after one can you kinda got smashed right off the bat and…” for the next 20 minutes, counting Dia’s slow talking prowess and shaky memorizing skills, he told Pearl what he knew from his end. This includes the conversation he, Pearl, Damion, and Roxie had and up to when he carried Pearl back to his room.

“aaannnd that’s all I can really remember… well there was also that fight I mentioned before but after that it got a liiiiiiiiiittle hazy.”all he could really do at that point is shrug and look up at Pearl to see how he’d react to all of their stupidity.

Surely enough, Pearl hazily recalled a lot of the things Dia said, which meant it all had to be true. Not that Diamond would lie to him, of course.

"Jeez, only one can before I dropped... That's a little embarrassing, honestly, only getting that far. And this Damion kid... he's really that much like me?"

“Mmn! Alright then… I’ll tell you what I know when we’re out…”

He didn’t hesitate on beginning to take his clothes off the moment Pearl started to leave. It was about when he tried putting on a new shirt that Pearl began to talk again.

“Hnuh? Oh, sure…! I’m alright with that. Not like we have much to do anyways…” He pulled his shirt down over his head finally and tucked it in a sloppy manner, his Mother would be so ashamed. He hastily put on his shoes as well and walked out of the dorm room, with a sandwich in his hand no less.

“Okay! We can head down now.” A smile forms on his face as he puts the sandwich in his mouth right after saying that.

Finally dressed properly, Pearl led the way to the courtyard. It was more of an arbitrary destination than it was anything else.

"So, what all happened last night? You should probably start around the alcohol part," he said, lowering his voice ever-so-slightly just in case.

“Huh? Oh yeah. I’m fine… I don’t get hit too hard with this stuff. The headache’s already toned down.” he grins and starts to stand up himself, using the bed as support to do so.

“Let’s both walk it off, then! …Though I guess I should change out of my PJs first…” he glanced down at his ill-fitting Pajamas and pulled down on his shirt a little for some self-reassurance before looking back up at Pearl, “I’ll only be a few seconds… so you can go on ahead without me if you want.”

"Alright! And maybe you can tell me a little more about that Damion guy while we're walking!"

Pearl left Dia to his own devices while waiting outside the door. ...Suddenly he realized just how good of an idea Dia'd had.

"By the way, can we stop at my dorm too? I think I need to change, too..." he called so Dia could hear from behind the door.

Just as Dia sealed his bottle for a moment, too. You’re so lucky there won’t be water everywhere.

“Are you sure you can—EHHH?!”

He was about to speak out of concern but got a face full of pearl’s hair and fell backwards from shock, “augh, Geez… I was GONNA ask if you’re sure you can even walk… but now I’m not so sure.” his already half lidded eyes seemed to narrow more as he looked at pearl sprawled out on top of him. What a day this was turning out to be.

"S-sorry, my bad."

This was going to be afantasticday, wasn't it? Pearl quickly rolled off Dia, then got back up on his feet. Surprising agility for someone who was hung over. He turned back to Dia, trying to give an air of confidence despite placing a hand on a nearby dresser just in case.

"You gonna be alright? I'm just gonna move a bit, see if I can't walk this off."

After the trio reunion [Closed for Dia and Pearl!]

“Well that was fun,” Platina said with a smile, holding both boys’ hands. “I’m glad it was even more special by being able to be together after so long…” She laughed, “where are we going? I still haven’t figured out where everything is yet, so you two will get to choose the place.” What she meant I’m trusting you two to take us somewhere good. 

“It feels like we never left each other’s sides…”

The girl squeezed both boys closer to her sides, they seemed to have changed a little bit but not by much. Dia seemed a bit more confident somehow and Pearl matured a bit too; hopefully today and the days to come would prove to be just as great as their adventure.

“I uhh… I don’t know! Uhmmn…” Diamond’s mind was everywhere at the moment. His flusteredness had hit a new high score in terms of leaving him speechless or incapable of thinking clearly when around Platina.

This feeling had only grown more when he was pulled closer toward her and he listened to what she had said. His face grew an almost tomato hue as he glanced over to pearl then out of the campus gate, “W-well…! I’ve been out here once or twice and they have a couple of good late night restaurants and the like…  uh…” his eyes wandered about the streets ahead for a moment before something caught his attention.

“Oh-! W.. why not that cafe over there? It seems, erh, relatively friendly and it’s open! What do you think… P-Pearl?” he looked expectantly at his best childhood buddy ever for… some sort of answer. Anything really.

"Yep! Sounds good to me! As long as there's good ice cream. We agreed, ya know."

Running fairly high off of the excitement of the masquerade, Pearl was having a little trouble not breaking away from the others. He looked over at the others, with an almost toothy grin over his face. Chuckling at Dia's face in spite of himself, he turned to take a better look at the cafe.

“Oh, no. None that you were in. Just one I walked in and saw when I came back from dropping you off. s’all. nothing bad happened really… Just Damion acting like a moron and hitting someone apparently.” he stood up with the blankets wrapped around him still and maneuvered his way to the mini fridge he personally put in.

He took out two bottled waters and handed set one next to pearl on the bed and plopped back down on the bedside floor, “speaking of hitting… you and Damion hit it off pretty well last night! I mean, even though you were drunk as a skuntank you were holding up. Maybe you should have a proper conversation with him sometime…” he uncapped the bottle of water and popped an aspirin or two in before chugging most of it down. ”Though, most of the conversation was about me…”

"Damion..." That name was slightly familiar. Looks like he'd made a new friend while he was drunk, but he couldn't remember a thing about him. "Man, what'd I get myself into..." He followed Dia's lead with his own water bottle, and a silence was shared while each boy collected themselves.

"...Okay. No reason for me to be griping on about something long over. Time to get up and at 'em!"

At this, he attempted his usual morning spring out of bed... only to find out Dia's was set slightly different from his own. Losing his balance at the perfect time, he stumbled and then-- with all the precision of a falling building-- toppled directly onto Dia. Thud.

“Hmmmn? Oh… I’m okay. My head hurts a little but I think I’ll live.” as if saying that reminded him of that pain, he closed his eyes to at least dowse the flames, so to speak.

“What about you…? You looked like you got thrown off a building and somehow lived to tell the tale.” okay that was a bit morbid but it was true. Pearl looked like a wreck to him, “It was a pretty good party, though… despite how awkward it was off and on. There were barely any fights and we all left on a good note…!”

Dia sighed again, only a bit more content than before. For once he didn’t have a million and one regrets while being at the party. Though, there was one thing eating the back of his mind he couldn’t shake off. That thing being the similarity between Pearl and Damion. Their fathers are both named Palmer, both were separated from their mothers…. they even look the same! So far the only difference would be their attitudes, friends, and relationships with their mom.

Deciding to shake this off; he finally sat back up and scratched the inside of his ear irritatedly, “I’m gonna… get something for this headache since it’s getting to me. You want anything?”

"'Barely any fights'? That implies there were some." Pearl sighed. There was a lot of sighing in this room. "Was I in any of them? Please tell me I wasn't... Oh, and water'd be fine."

If by ‘facing it’ you mean seeing your best friend wrapped in his blanket trying to fight his sleep spell on the floor next to the bed.

He let out a rather long yawn and just sat there for a moment before rubbing his face and falling back down. His eyes lazily glanced up toward where Pearl was sleeping, noticing his friend’s eyes weren’t shut tightly as they were last time he checked.

Diamond rose his arm up and waved to Pearl in an almost forced manner before flopping it to his side once more. With a heavy breath from his nose he decided to speak, “Good..uhhh……” he didn’t know if it was actually morning or the afternoon. He instinctively checked to his side for the clock but alas, he gave his bed to Pearl so the clock wasn’t there.

“…What time is it…?”

...Oh. All things considered, that could've been worse.

"Eleven..." He had a strange feeling that the clock was wrong, but it was rather easy to shrug it off. Bits and pieces of the night prior were coming to him. His memory was fine, up until he had gone to grab a can... a can. Jeez, what was he thinking? Come to think, he couldn't remember his own reasoning.

Ugh. What else could he remember? There was... It took place in a girls' dorm (thank god Dia had gotten him out), and it had been a costume party. Glancing around the room with his eyes only, he found the Pippin and Purin hats in a corner. He was probably wearing the rest of the outfit, meaning he'd be lucky to be able to wear it again. Vaguely, he remembered there being a mirror in the room. Or something. He'd been talking to the mirror for whatever reason? Must've looked like such an idiot. He didn't think Missy had shown up, which was a relief... But that Roxie chick had. Pearl had a rant in store for Dia about her, but he knew it would definitely be for some other time.

"Dia... Dia, how you feelin'...?" he groaned.

It was impressive, really. Pearl was usually right out of bed in the morning. But when he woke on this particular day, he came to realize that he only wanted to shut his eyes tighter.

Of all the people to have a hangover...

Pearl could tell something was off. Something about the room he was in felt different. Maybe it was the way light was falling in? Had Ethan rearranged some stuff (in the middle of the night, how dare he)? Oh god, Ethan. What would he think, coming back to an unconscious roommate?

He heard a small bit of shuffling around in the room. I'll have to face it eventually, he told himself, as he slowly opened his eyes.

Diligence

Somewhere, in the back of his mind, Pearl knew he was making the wrong decision.

By, you know.

Jogging.

In the rain.

Yeah.

He'd decided to get serious about track. Super-serious. And, seeing as he'd missed a practice, there was only one way to atone.

...At least, that's how he reasoned it. But really, he was only looking for a little time to himself. He felt like he was getting on his roommate's nerves, practicing jokes constantly in the dorms, so it was nice to get a little time to himself.

In bone-chilling rain, yeah.

“Huh?” Did he just tell a joke right now? Ethan couldn’t really actually tell due to Pearl’s face. He did give a … small chuckle to lift Pearl’s spirits if that would actually help. “T-that was a bit funny. Haha…” He blinked and folded his arms. “Well, if you want to join you can ask, Mr. Stone. I guess he’s the teacher in charge of the club!”

Pearl shrugged. Actually joining the club might be a little too much to expect of him... "I think I'll pass. Thanks, though." Also his joke nearly fell flat. Dammit.

"Heh, anytime. We haven't performed in a while, so we might be a little rusty, but we'll get back into the groove pretty soon." Pearl grinned. He'd gotten someone interested.

Ooh, you will help me?! Splendid! You see, I was hoping to do something très fabuleux for Spirit Week! Perhaps you would be willing to work on a skit for moi and help me put on a show at least one of the days? I would very much appreciate it! I could even count it as extra credit for your drama grades if you’d like. [She winks at them, doing a fabulous pose as usual] As for the skit itself..I’d like it to be something sinistre, but keep it tongue in cheek for the more squeamish students. What do you two think, hm?

[looks at his friend for a moment, grinning now. He turns back to Fantina once more to add in something.] What kind of ‘sinister’ thing do you have in mind? Hopefully nothing like that movie you showed us… [he rubbed the back of his head. Wow why’d he have to bring up that weird movie from the weekend?]
