It is late at night and someone across the way is playing La Vie en Rose. It is the French way of saying, ‘I am looking at the world through rose-coloured glasses and it says everything I feel. I have learned how to live, how to be in the world and of the world, and not just to stand aside and watch. And I will never, never again run away from life, or from love, either.
Christy Turlington by Bruce Weber 1992
“The corruption of freedom is in proportion to the moral deterioration of the people. For a people who have lost their sense of self-respect have no need for freedom.”
— Frank Chodorov (1887-1966) American writer.

Remember when Daniel’s three friends were going to be thrown into the furnace if they didn’t bow to Nebuchadnezzar’s enormous golden idol? (See Daniel 3)
The king gave them another chance to worship the idol, but they insisted that they would not. They said that they knew that God could save them from the flames of that furnace, but even if He didn’t, they still weren’t going to bow!
That’s the kind of faith I want. “I know God can keep me safe, but even if it’s not His will to do that, I’ll still serve Him.”
