demi: one person came into the shop today so I had the entire day to read.

“Right.” Oliver replied with a nod and a soft smile. “No, uh, I’m fine. I’ll definitely take that drink, though.”
She nodded and started walking to the bar she’d practically become a regular at, “First round’ll be on me.” She chimed. It was odd how she’d found herself adjusting to this new life.
“And we need to make sure it never happens again.” Oliver nodded, agreeing. “I feel fine, I think. Nothing feels out of the ordinary.”
“Exactly, no one messes with our family.” She nodded. “Nothing dizzy or anything?” She asked once more. “Come on let’s get you a drink, I think you deserve one.” the corner of her lip quirked up a bit.

“I… I don’t know.” Oliver shook his head and ran a hand through his hair. “Onyx, you know I can’t do magic. Whatever it was, I wasn’t the cause of it.”
“Then we need to figure out what was because if there is something here that can do that....we need to know.” She sighed looking up at him, “How do you feel?” She asked concerned.
“I was what?!” Oliver’s eyes went wide. He knew that strange things had been happening lately, but turning him into his mother? That certainly wasn’t something he expected.
“How did you do that?” She asked slowly stepping towards him again. She wasn’t sure of how it happened but she knew she wasn’t crazy. “She was here, and she was asking about you and...What kind of odd magic have you been dabbling in brother?” she asked very confused. She knew full well that her brother couldn’t naturally, but perhaps in her absence he’d found a way.
“Nothing drastic darling, I’m sure.” Ursula replied before doubling over, and as she did so her hair seemed to thin out and darken, her skin tone faded to a lighter color, and her frame grew into a more masculine one. Soon after the transformation began, Oliver lifted his head, his face contorted in pain. “W-What the hell just happened?”
Onyx took a couple slow steps back as she watched in almost horror of the transformation. She’d never seen one look so painful before, but she supposed that was one of the many different things about this land. “I....I don’t know.’ She trailed off trying to make sense of this all in her head. “Y-you were just mother!”
“Speaking of… Where is that brother of yours? I haven’t been able to locate him anywh-” Ursula cut herself off mid-sentence, letting out a small cry of pain and gripping her side. “What on Earth…?”
Just as she opened her mouth to respond her eyes widened with panic at the sound of her mother in pain. “ Mother!” She rushed towards her even though she wasn’t sure what she could do. “W-what’s happening?”
“Ah, so this is where you disappeared to. I must say, I’m disappointed. I thought you’d have better taste than this.” Ursula looked around and shrugged. “To tell you the truth darling, I’m not sure.”
“This isn’t by my choice mother. Trust me. Oliver and I have been stranded here trying to figure out a way out.” She explained hoping she’d understand. She sighed a bit disappointed herself. “Well then at least we’re all together...”She trailed off.
“Why are you giving me that look?”
“I’m sorry I’m just surprised to see you here. How’d you get here?!” she asked a bit urgently. She was of course, glad to see her mother, but she also wanted to know if there was finally a way out of this mess.
“You’re not a human?” Aubree looked over at her confused.
“While I might not look it in this dreadful form, no I’m not, and thank the gods.”
“A favor seems fair yea.” Delaney smiled and looked over at the other girl, “I’m Delaney by the way.”
“Good, follow me.” She grinned and motioned for her to follow her, “ Just just down a couple blocks.” She chimed. “A pleasure, I’m Pearl.”
“You really are a lot of fun aren’t you. I bet people love you at parties.”
Pearl smirked crossing her legs, “Still thinking on frivolous things I see. I suppose humans never learn.”
“I do too. Of course, once they die I can make them suffer for all eternity in the Underworld.” What the mortals didn’t realize was that she was the daughter of Hades and as a result, could control the dead.
“Sadly my reach isn’t that far, so I have to keep them stringed along as long as possible. But I have to say that’s mighty impressive.” She grinned. She’d never met someone who could deal with the dead. Sure she’d heard legends, but she’d never paid much mind. “I Think I’ll take you up on that drink offer after all.”
“Are you always this friendly?”
“All sugar and no spice makes a dull girl.”
“A bar huh? Could you show me where?”
“Tah-tah I like your spirit, but I don’t do favors for nothing. Let’s just say you’ll owe me a small favor sometime down the road, fair?”
“How else do you properly torture and kill someone and have fun at the same time.” Aleksis stated with a smirk on her pink lips. Her brother didn’t think that prolonging a person’s suffering was fun, and she couldn’t understand why.
“True. Though sometimes death is too sweet of a release I say. I prefer to have someone suffer for as long as their miserable existence allows.” she chimed with a wicked grin. No killing was too easy, so her and her mother rarely indulged in it with their own two hands.
