Tom: "I suppose it's kind of like a couple, like dance, like a couple who've danced a lot together. That's what it felt like."
Sophia: "It was romantic, yeah. But trying to kill each other."
Tom: "It is a kind of lethal dance that we do."

today and every day, we remember you, Mr. Mercury 👑💛
Here’s an excerpt of Brian talking about writing and recording “The Show Must Go On” with Freddie in the February 2023 edition of Total Guitar Magazine:
….God, this is so much…..
Brian wanting Freddie to “thrust himself forward” but knowing he wouldn’t write lyrics like that for himself, but realizing he could do it for him as his lyricist–I don’t know, something about this is getting to me. Like Brian really wanted Freddie to sing these beautiful lyrics about himself and to give him a way to do it that made him feel comfortable. It’s like Brian wanted Freddie to see himself the way he saw him….
And then, Brian not wanting Freddie to hurt himself singing :( the thought of Brian or the band in general looking out for Freddie while he was ill makes me emotional

🔸Brian May: “Freddie said, ‘Write me stuff. I know I don’t have very long. Keep writing me words, keep giving me things – I will sing, and then you can do what you like afterwards and finish it off.”
🔸Producer Dave Richards added: “He was dying when he did those songs, and he knew he would be dead when they were finished because he said to me, ‘I’m going to sing it now because I can’t wait for them to do music on this. Give me a drum machine and they’ll finish it off.'”

“I love the fact that I can make people happy, in any form. Even if it’s just an hour of their lives, if I can make them feel lucky or make them feel good, or bring a smile to a sour face, that to me is worthwhile.” —Freddie Mercury
