Huh... it just feels like a hunch, but I dare to assume you guys might have an itty bitty teenie tiny liiiittle interest in the AU :³✨️
Ok, so I'll do more about it :D
So, the AU is actually based on my OC's story after the war. (But since I feel cringe or well... uncomfortable sharing my MHA OC, I won't share too much about them. There's just this sketch I made of them that I'll project on Izuku instead. With a few reattachments of the story, it's actually pretty cool!)
A short introduction (there'll be more detailed stuff coming out soon):
In this AU, AfO managed to pass his quirk during the final fight before he went down.
Becoming a theoretical vessel for him, Izuku has been given a strong version of a quirk suppressor/blocker (I imagined a single choker or bracelet would be used as a custom regulator by police forces). But since AfO's vestige is trying to get a stronghold over him with time, a regular blocker doesn't work anymore. That's why he's wearing 6 parts that cover most of his body 1 on each arm, 1 each leg, 1 on his neck that also covers half of his face, and his chest (the sketch of the chest needs improvisation for practical reasons in the story).
His hair has become white, and his eye colour is pale. Holes appeared on his palms, and all his previous scars disappeared, including his disfigured right hand. He lost his left eye permanently in an accident.
I liked the Greek analogy of Tartarus, and since the blocker is AfO's prison, I thought that I maybe should name it little Tartarus (?), but that was too tacky and lame. Then, I stumbled upon the story of Sisyphus. A human king who gained the god's wrath and cheated death twice, only to end up in Tartarus and being punished to roll up a ball of rock a mountain over and over again. (AfO cheated death more than once, and he gained the heroes' and people's wrath. And ended up in an eternal punishment to be forever stuck in a body he supposedly never should take over.) So I named the blocker Sisyphus.
It's like a larger black version of Red Gauntlet that can also unfold back to bracelets, a bracelet, or whatever when the fitting key activates it. The entire blocker is made out of an extremely rare material that costs trillions to fund (the International Hero Public Safety Commisions paid it). A function of Sisyphus is that it can't break by any force like fire, cutting, impact, and so on. Especially, it can't break under Decay's influence (if a certain number of parts are removed, Izuku can use the quirks Tomura had gained and passed on him too). The keys are safely hidden all over the world so that in an emergency AfO (or anybody else) can't find them to free the Demon Lord. Izuku is allowed to open one barrier of Sisyphus regularly for medical testing purposes and under special cases in missions, so he always has the key for his right arm with him. Any else need to be requested through the International Hero Public Safety Commision Headcouncils, which is likely to no chance, given the circumstance that they aren't fond of the villain (and Izuku, but that's a deeper problem). Plus, the metal can bend and cause pain if Izuku 'shape-shifts' his body like Tomura did in UA's Coffin. When he goes outside, he wraps the parts of his body that are covered with Sisyphus into bandages to stay unsuspicious.
8 years later, after the war, Izuku is not functioning as a regular hero. Due to the threat AfO poses and the possibility that he could always take control over the body, Izuku is permanently monitored. As in the beginning of the appearance of the quirk, Izuku was losing grip of it when it overwhelmed him physically and mentally (that's why he needs so many blockers, because one couldn't suppress AfO). Later on, he was put on an International Safety Commission trial, which was supposed to decide what should happen to him. A part of the trial was to decide what should happen to AfO and what kind of punishment he should get. The Head Councils are strict, and some of them even go so far as to overthrow human morality if it is necessary for the greater cause. The death penalty was one suggestion, but due to an accident in the past 8 years, Izuku's body has been modified, and he can't die so easily (just like Tomura, he can regenerate inhumanely). Another problem was that there were two. Izuku had rights, too. So the Council decided to strip the title Human and take every right away Izuku usually has as a civilian so that they can lawfully imprison him. But for sacrificing himself to fight against AfO, he was pardond to be monitored by the Japanese and International Hero Public Safety Commission all the time. He internally goes by the name as the Devil Nomou, much do his despise his co-workers call him that.
After graduation, Izuku couldn't be longer under the protective wing of UA and All Might, as he was taken in by the Safety Commission. Hawks was able to push through the Headcouncils and let him work as a specialised hero (Hawks is directly his boss). Like Hawks, or Lady Nagant, Izuku is more like a super-agent (though unlike them, Izuku doesn't kill. Hawks' reforms in the Japanese HPSC haven't really brought much transparency into the house due to the AfO situation, but more effort into less shady actions in the HPSC itsself). An investigator who works behind the scenes of public heroism. Btw, his existence is classified, so unless his friends and co-working heroes, the public thinks he's dead (not gonna spoil when it was official, but it wasn't directly after the war). Yet he has little contact with others due the restrictions the Commission put on him. He can walk outside if he wants, but with a tracker and usually with a partner. He's not allowed to live on his own, costs are provided by the Commission. Usually, he's concealed in a gigantic white-tiled monitoring room, 40 stories under the HQ of the JHPSC for sleeping and living. But Hawks managed to provide him, like he says: "a small apartment" (truth is it's a fricking penthouse) above the HQ, that is heavily secured. Only Izuku, Hawks, and those ordered by Hawks can enter it. The penthouse has the same technology as UA's Coffin. If Izuku destroyed the penthouse with decay, the automatic defence system would activate and trap him in there.
But all in all, Izuku is kinda lonely. His access to Internet and phone calls are strict short (he can't use them outside of work, so it's hard to contact anybody in his free time). His friends and other co-workers are busy with work (unless he gets to work with them which is not often), All Might tries to be close, but is also either restricted or busy with being the substitute principle. And Katsuki... became off...
Katsuki defies against every warning the IHPSC is giving him not to be too close to his best friend. But even he can only spend time with him as short as the others could do. Izuku and Katsuki have a ritual of some sort. Around midday, they go to lunch together at a restaurant, they usually meet. It's the only time Izuku is able to spend time with someone outside of work. But for a year, Katsuki stopped coming, with the excuse of too much work. And short phone calls don't really work. (Plus Katsuki's not understandable coding of communication and Izuku's oblivious ass cause much miscommunication.)
Plus, Izuku is haunted by AfO and nighterrors, but can't really talk to anybody about it.
During the plot, he's investigating cases that can track back to the rest of AfO's organised crime empire that is mysteriously still led successfully international. A certain drug that can enhance a quirk and makes aggressive makes its reappearance from back over 10 years. Nomous appear again in a more terrifying way. And a serial murder case lead to a hidden kindergarten of quirkless children, all kidnapped by AfO organisation.
Either way, Izuku can't seem to outrun the past and the future that AfO has left him to face, as everyone is either slowly forgetting who he was, or those who remember him only see the other one.
