VP feels so meaningless lately. I feel bored.
Maybe a cute challenge idea: I thought about shooting an imagined roll of 35mm film and post the series without editing, just to get that analogue kick.
These pictures have been gathering dust in my drafts for weeks. Thought I'd throw in some random OC questions to warm up for some writing and finally send them on their journey. 👋

1. ls your character better at leading or following? Which do they prefer?
Volya is not interested in leading, but very eager to follow - just tell them what to do, they might complain but secretly love it.
2. Does your character prefer city life or being out in nature?
City! They spent most of their life in the Badlands and followed Jackie to NC, after always having dreamed of (and heavily romanticized) city life.
3. Does your character believe in fate or destiny?
Due to their aunt’s worldviews, words like fate and destiny are negatively connoted. For her, it meant people don't see their own cause-and-effect part in life. Volya internalized believing in fate as a lazy excuse.
4. How strong is your character's sense of responsibility? What kinds of things trigger it?
Too strong, and therefore, they tend to avoid it. They mostly duck, play dead, or sneak away. As mentioned in another post (I think 🤔) Volya’s aunt set unbelievably high standards for herself. V copied that behaviour but never got the chance to tell her how powerless they truly feel.
5. What about your character is heroic?
Uff. Volya is scared all the fucking time but still stands up every day. That's kind of heroic, isn't it? (:
On another level, they are ✨️heroic✨️ at caring for their inner circle, Nibbles, random city birds, and forgotten potted plants. They like to adopt strays and nurture and cherish them back to their old strength. To their humans (and Nibbles), they are a good listener, give thoughtful advice, and make decent drinks for every mood. Yeah, I think Volya is heroic in the small supportive parts of life (:
On antother-nother level, once they overcome their inner critic, they will find a way to utilize their mind and resources effectively. I view them as someone who acts out of the shadows. They are cunning, observant, and creative. However, that's future Volya! Perhaps they will reach that point in some years.
6. What about your character is cowardly?
Sometimes, they lack a backbone.
As said above, they tend to dodge responsibility.
They randomly freeze during combat and let Johnny take over. This is more a condition than being cowardly, though.
7. In a Dungeons & Dragons game, which class would your character be? (wizard, fighter, bard, priest, ranger, etc.)
Maybe Hexblade Warlock? Charisma based weapons and a patron sugar daddy, I guess that fits. A Bard would work, too.
8. In a novel, what plot role would your character fill? (hero, anti-hero, sidekick, villain, etc.)
Sidekick, actually.
9. Is your character ticklish?
Yes, and they get angry when they get tickled. Sensory overload brings out the worst in them.
10. How do they express anger?
Anger stages:
1. Heavily brooding
2. Being overly sarcastic
3. Having a cry in private to decompress
4. Messing up your day without getting noticed
5. After some consideration, talking the talk
11. How often do they cry? Over what?
Almost every day! Crying regulates the nervous system. Volya loves a good cry.
12. How emotionally stable is your character?
They'd answer this one with a solid 3/10, but they are actually more stable than they fear or feel. I'd give them a 6/10.
13. How easy is it for them to read the emotions of others?
Pretty easy. Volya is very observant and emotionally intelligent.
14. How easy is it for others to read your character's emotions?
Let's say they are not as mysterious as they think. :D
