Blue Silk Dress with Chiffon

I have seen some people in the tags confused about the color! Silk is subject to fading over time just as many other fabrics.

People have pointed out that it is "green", and yes it does appear that way! Yet if you look at the collar, it looks closer to blue, however still can come off as looking a greenish color.

What also makes it appear more green is due to the chiffon color also possibly fading which I can only assume was more white before.

Macro Monday shots of latest project- a tiny @bowelfly art book.

Sometimes it's hard to pick which idea to work on given how many are bouncing around in my head but it's an easier choice if a project satisfies more than one want/question. In this case I'm a big fan of @bowelfly's work, I've been itching to make another bug book, and I was curious as to how my printer & tiny book setup would handle images.

The macro print photos are side-by-side comparisons (unscaled) between my initial very tiny 20 page signature setup and the slightly larger 16 page signature setup. It's two printed letter sheets to make a book of 160 pages (5 signatures per sheet, 16 pages per signature) with a majority of the images on the right side and the Tumblr post contents/date on the left side.

Obviously the pictures would look only better printed at larger scale, not to mention in color for some of the pieces, but this was a test of my at-home setup. @bowelfly's artwork was sublime for this project because (a) it's awesome and I'm not ashamed to have it in my house should someone peek inside the creation (b) it's primarily black and white with simple lines- the best possible pieces to print clearly at small scale and (c) there's few things that would fit inside a monster book but I feel the vibe of these pictures is complimented and not overwhelmed by the funky housing.

It's the second monster book that's not a blank (fox bodied Little Prince being the first) and I while I like the idea, the print quality wasn't great and I question how much content I can find that'll stand up to being encased by such dramatic/foolish flair. When I posted an in-progress photo to the Renegade Discord someone asked "which story are you binding that needs legs" which was a needling reminder to maintain balance between form and function.

All of my monster books teeter on the edge of "book-ness" in form and this one definitely slips a bit too far into the "monster" side of things... third "bug-ish" one [1][2] and fourth one with some concept of "wings" [3][4]. Despite some definite flaws I'm happy I saw the project through (am improving and tightening up the idea -> execute -> finish cycle) and learned some things. Laying out photos calls for decisions I'm not great at making but I am very fond of those eyes and antennae! - gives it a hint of 'soul' to look at, which echos well it actually having content.

In the end, I'm amused to have produced another "fan binding" that encloses works worthy of admiration as much as my (easier) text constructions and in a way I enjoy the absence of any corporate/commercial shadow hovering over the content. Thanks to @bowelfly for being cool about me posting their work! 💛
