I think my (m37) landlord (m60? 70? Doesn’t want to tell) is messing with me. HELP. (THANKS TO DAGNERD FOR TRANSLATING THIS)
Hi, uh… I know it’s weird to ask a bunch of strangers on the internet, but I don’t have many friends, and my wife thinks it would help me deal with stress, and focus on the kids (I might or might not be losing hair over this. Probably. Maybe it´s just genetics).
My landlord is a real nutcase. I don’t wanna get into details, because he’s very particular, and it would come back to bite me in the ass, but let’s just say he has a lot of money. Maybe too much. I DON’T KNOW. Normally it wouldn’t bother me, but I think that if he had less, it wouldn’t be an issue for me and my restaurant. Yes, I’m the owner of a restaurant. I won’t say which one. It’s really good.
Some may say he is playing, but he throws firecrackers at us if he catches us off guard. Generally he moves around in a…non specific vehicle, which SOME may say is not very fast, but I think could be dangerous. I mean, some people are not very fast…
Oh God, this is embarrassing. I mean, I try to pay my rent on time (Mostly), but he usually comes around in person to collect it… Well, sometimes I don’t know if he’s being serious or just mocking me, and trying to make me mad.
I couldn’t get mad at someone like that. Obviously. I try to go unnoticed, fly under the radar, you know.
All that, somehow, makes it worse? I mean, now every Aprils’ Fools he does something horrible in my restaurant. I don’t like pranks, and I try not to get too scared. The first time he covered all the furniture in the venue with bubble wrap. I DON’T KNOW WHEN HE DID IT. Another time he dressed as my wife, and everybody thought it was hilarious, and she even took some photos with him. It gets me on edge. I try to be on my toes, but it’s… hard.
Anyway, some days ago I found him a little tipsy walking down the street. At first I didn’t want to get involved, but I told my wife and decided to drive him home. And that was… oh, boy. He pestered me the whole way there, asking if I really wasn’t a foreigner (I’m not), or telling me stories about his dad. Oh, he always tells me I remind him of his dad. Isn’t that weird? My wife says it’s nothing out of the ordinary, but I don’t know what to think. So I don’t. Think, I mean.
And his house is… it’s not that I’m a coward, in general, but I was… I mean, I was afraid. It’s a really creepy old manor. I thought it would be the end of me… like in the movies.
He told me to leave him at the entrance, that “Inga would come get him.” I don’t know who this Inga person is, and didn’t stay to find out. I could swear I heard him falling down on the porch, but I didn’t want to look back. I was really scared.
Oh God, I’m sure he fell on the porch. And I didn’t help him.
Now I think everything is more awkward. I don’t know what to do. Should I avoid him? I mean, I REALLY need some advice.
