This is practically what happened in Chapter 15 Folie et Deraison
Recoleta's mad protective??
WARNING: SPOILER'S AHEAD FOR FOLIE ET DERAISON
Disclaimer: This is not a fully fledged analysis, this is simply what I observed.
After re-watching Folie et Deraison, I noticed how protective Recoleta is over Aleph.
When the Idealist was shot, one of the first things Recoleta showed concern over was Aleph. (Part 7 "Passion and Delirium")
The idealist's death has affected her to the point that she still holds beef towards Octavia even after she was proven innocent.
And then there's Chapter 15 right after we see Aleph for the first time and it is confirmed that he's the one behind the Panopticon. Despite these painful series of revelations, Recoleta protected Aleph from being harmed not once but TWICE.
(1) Recoleta protecting Aleph from Sonetto (Part 15 "Aleph"):
(2) Recoleta protecting Aleph from Garcia (Part 18 "In Praise of Folly):
Before I watched Folie et Deraison, I thought that Recoleta would resent Aleph after finding out all that he did but when I watched and re-watched it, it wasn't the case.
It's increasingly obvious how much Recoleta cares about Aleph. If she really hated him, then she would've let Sonetto do her job but she didn't. Additionally, she worried over Aleph's safety when Comala was collapsing.
(From Part 18 "In Praise of Folly")
i don't know what's going on in folie et deraison beside recoleta and aleph being friends and editor hunting being. well. an editor. but i thought of them when i saw this image

ok note to self i gotta leave the house regularly so that i dont feel like im slowly transforming into an evil fucking shadow clone of myself
So as it turns out your sense of self doesnt exist in a vacuum. You gotta actually use it and bounce it off of other people like echolocation to see where you are as a person and shit. So if you dont regularly interact with other people the echoes just get weaker and weaker and before you know it your personality is a blurry fucked up fog clone of its former self. which it sucks because this makes it really hard to interact with people again but yknow
Ouroborus Eaters
this isn't even much of a whump trope but i'm a slut for "well if sleeping together stops you from having nightmares who am I refuse?"
