We Could Have Had It All - But We Wouldn’t Have A COMPANY
I was working as a freelancer, while my husband - Jay - had a full-time job, as well as, spend extra hours on freelance projects. Together, we earned $2000 - $3000. That is a fantastic value, when you are living in India. But we had a different goal altogether - Start a Business, build a Company, create awesome products, work with a team that is more than a family.
So, in 2012, with only Rupees 5000 and a 100 square feet room (dingy as hell) we started Webinnova - Now Quadrant Technology. We managed to hire a web designer, who was from an art background. Jay, being a graphic designer and a UX engineer himself, was able to train our new family member.
In 2 months’ period, we got another web designer to join our family. Now we were a team of 4 passionate professionals. We started working hard in that tiny pigeon hole of an office, which we called our home - day and night. I landed an awesome project of $1600/mo.
This gave us the opportunity to make something out of our creative team. So, we toiled and in another 6 months, moved to a bigger office (300 square feet!)
However, a year down the line, we went slow with out projects. My $1600 assignment came to an abrupt end - due to my not-so-mindful decisions - and Jay lost his Dad.
It was 2013 and we had a team of 6 web designers and developers, excluding both me and Jay. Slowly, all of them gave up their hopes on the Company and us. We went back to square 1 (When we started out in 2012). We had a single web developer and both of us.
Dejected, hopeless and on the verge of shutting down our company, we saw a ray of light. We found David - a super enthusiastic and passionate personality, sharing the same aim of creating awesome products like us. He and Quadrant Technology made a partnership and thus, began our journey of working on over-the-top projects.
It was more like a rebirth for Quadrant Technology. We started working 18 hours a day. And ya, we moved to the IT sector of the city, in a 1200 square feet office. 2015, we became a 15 member team.
Back to 2016, we are going through a phase of animosity once again. But this time, it has taken a toil on personal emotion. Someone close to us, has given up his trust, loyalty and hope on us.

At present, we both think, what if we worked as freelancers? We would have our own house way before than others, get a bigger car, have a kid and be a happy and content family.... But We Wouldn’t have had a COMPANY.
We would have the 8-hour rests, but not a COMPANY.
We would have the Sunday brunches, dinners and picnics but not a COMPANY
We would have had monthly holidays but not a COMPANY.
We would have a simple LIFE but not a COMPANY.
We would be happy, but not adventurous and have a COMPANY!
We have a COMPANY now, We have sacrificed everything. We will not let anyone or anything give it up!
