CHESS THEORY FOR DELTARUNE IS STILL VIABLE. I THINK.

kinda long ramble below cut

oh yeah by the way i have played chess like once in my life. so uh. i might not be the most accurate when it comes to actual chess stuff.

So the order of bosses in deltarune up to ch4 goes king, queen, roaring knight, titan right.

In chapters 1 and 2 ppl thought of the chess theory, basing it off of mentions of important characters sharing names with chess pieces (king, queen, knight.) this could also imply that kris ralsei and susie are pawns.

This was kind of assumed to be debunked by ch4's final boss, the titan. that's not a chess piece. i think.

BUT one of the titan's themes is called Crumbling Tower. so i believe the titan represents the tower/rook piece.

ALSO. from where I am in chapter 5, flowery seems to represent the bishop, based on his strange knowledge and rule-breaking abilities (bishops move diagonally in chess.) he also kind of looks like one:

AND ralsei's shift in abilities towards violent magic reminds me of how pawns are crowned queens when they reach the other side of the board. this could also mean transfem ralsei theory (toby please it would be so awesome)

this could mean the last two chapters are check and checkmate story-wise. It might end in "taking" the light world's king piece maybe? The king could be asgore but another possibility is that it could be rudy, who's been sick the whole game AND falls off a ladder in ch5. so yeah he's probably gonna die soon. and if rudy's the king that makes dess being the knight all the more probable!

ok so in conclusion this all means that the roaring is when gaster gets pissed and flips the table over thank you for coming to my ted talk
