Skaldova is hilarious because each PC feels like they come from a completely different genre

Zudrick looks like a rusty dark souls knight, like a knight in dark souls that doesn’t attack you but you can tell that he’s gone mad. So, just soaked in blood in rusty armor head to toe, has his full helm on, you just see the grate— has an enormous anime sword and a giant bag full of something bloody. You see crows around him.

A halo braid! She’s got an elizabethan collar, poking out from barnacle-encrusted plate mail, and a sea-green tabard embroidered with a wave and an oar and accented with river-pebbles! She’s also got a quill made from a heron feather tucked behind her ear, and a bark-bound folio, as well as a bunch of weapons strapped to her back with oak handles.

yesterday, after years of abuse from our narcissistic, homophobic grandma, i finally fought back and did my best to protect my mother and sister. it was a disaster and my grandma threatened us to leave her house (long story short, we live under her roof). i’ve always planned to move, but now, i need to bring my family to safety as soon as possible too.
we need to move for our safety and happiness by the first quarter of 2025. we’re planning to move back to our childhood home that we’ve currently put up for rent (the current renter is leaving soon - no worries). im planning to bring along my mom, my sister, our two cats and dog with me.
the thing is, im worried we wont be able to move because our funds have been so low. recently, i lost my main job because my boss was a creep. i only have a part time job now that only pays me $170 a month which is barely enough for me, much less my family. my sister just graduated college so she doesn’t have a job yet and my mom can’t get a job because it stresses and tires her out (she also deals with mental health problems - a result of this unstable environment).
my goal is to at least reach $500 to ensure that we’ll have enough money for the move and to sustain us for the next couple of months while we adjust to this new environment and heal. i would be so grateful and would appreciate any amount you can give for me and my family.Â
it’s truly crazy how things can just change from one day to the next. a day before that altercation, i was cooking cordon bleu with my girlfriend at their house, watching arcane s2 act 1 - literally in lesbian bliss. and now im on a mission to save me and my family, to give all of us the freedom and life we deserve.

There has been no donation made yet but I still have hope 🥹 My grandma talked to my sister and long story short, my mom and sister would unfortunately be staying while I move out. She also told us that before we can move into our childhood home, we'd have to pay her $2,549.44 in cold cash for the repairs she'd done there. God.
Since the situation is so dire and we don't have that amount of money to spare, they opted to stay so they can support me still (we receive money from our grandma occasionally). This breaks my heart but I've been outvoted. They want to take care of me and secure the family's future in this way.
My grandma wants me out of this house before December or before Christmas. I'll also be banned from this house forever. To anyone reading, I'll truly be grateful for any financial help you can give. It's so sudden, having to leave so soon and to be separated from my family. It's cruel how my grandma wants and rejoices in our separation and how it seems like she wins in the end. I worry about where I'll go and how my family will fair staying here.

a few things that i think aabria is executing very well right now with mismag ii:
consequences: both immediate and long-term. they released magic on the world and it had a lot of unintended, far-ranging effects that are changing the world as we know it. she is the consequences dm. when aabria has the choice, she is going to make it as hard as it needs to be for the impact to be felt. for little things, they can fail and get a little bit as opposed to everything. but for the big failures? she asks for commitment and makes it hard because it is hard.
lore: mismag ii has the benefit of more time than mismag. this season is following up on the effects of everything they chose to do, while bringing in the lore of the holiday special, and extending it to encompass the consequences of change. with 11 episodes, she has to time to make them encounter each creature/manifestation, while leaving room for interpersonal conflict and a realization of the unknown/the mystery components. it's like we're watching the first stages of a complex knot being tied, and knowing that by the end, there will be an elegant bow on top, hiding a gordian knot of consequences and world-shaking choices. they're not restricted to 4 episodes, with a need to introduce the world, shopping episode, classes, learning magic, dating, and a big ol' tournament.
structure: with 11 episodes, a bunch of creatures and islands and the final destination of gowpenny, she has a structure that she can stick to and modify based on the group's progression, with enough time to let it breathe. it feels a lot like the events from acofaf, rather than the set pieces from burrow's end--they can encounter things as they come across them, but some things are going to exist and going to be happening regardless of what they do about it. it's not railroading per se, but she's set the water at the top of the mountain, with different pools for the water to collect along the way. the way they get there may vary, but they're going to get there. imo it's where she thrives as a dm, especially with this set of players: knowing she has a path that they will pursue, but plenty of room to fuck around and find out in the meantime.
