What if the reason that we experience déjà vu is because of the Mandela effect. That we are jumping time lines and when we jump we have these flashes of déjà vu because we have experienced that already happening before just on a different time line.

Don’t become the thing you hated

Remember those days when you said you hated Harley’s and made fun of them. You laughed and said they were too expensive and that you would “never” be a Harley owner because of all the “pinhead” things that followed. The accessories. The incredibly short trips. The thinking you’re better than all the other bikes on the road.

Funny, you told me you traded in your Yamaha for a Harley and I just looked at you. Everything you hated, you just stepped into. Every pre-judgement, and negative thing... and this is just one thing that she’s changed in you.

Why? Why did you change your core?

Is it her? I know you’re in a new life with a new wife, but is she changing you into that thing you always said you’d “never” be? And if so why?

But then I look at our life and I see all the things that I changed to be with you. The things I thought I’d never do, but I did, because I felt like I had to change myself to be with you.

And the penny drops.

We’re the same- you and I- but I loved you like you love her. I know now that I don’t have to do that for someone to love me. And I’m thankful that I didn’t have to spend the rest of my life hiding in my shell for you, but I’m also sad that you’re doing that to be with someone else. I hope one day she starts loving the real you.

You are an amazing person, I just hope you don’t wake up one day and realize that you are everything you always hated. When that day comes, though, (because it will) I hope you can find yourself again and remember who you were when you were accepted for all of your opinions, and not who you’ve became for her.

Honesty

I’ve always been that person who says things before they think- and it comes or bluntly. I’m not rude about it, but many times I find myself having. To backtrack or explain myself and my questions/statements especially via text/message. There’s something that goes missing when you can’t hear someone’s voice and the concern behind it.

Today it hit me again as I was asking about a friend and got accused of not being sensitive enough and and expecting too much. But let me tell you a little secret- your honest friends are the ones that care about you the most. And want you to succeed. That’s why they don’t sugarcoat things.

Honesty is hard. And people really like to live in their delusions until they fall apart. THEN they want to know why so they call the blunt friend.

Here’s the thing, though. There were red flags all along. And if you would’ve stopped and listened to the honest friendships in your life, you may have avoided a lot of the heart ache.

Also, it’s really hard to keep up with pretenses. If you have a friend who’s all fake smiles and agrees with you on everything, you don’t have a friend - you have a mini-me. Life is about honesty. And I’d rather be told the truth once and know where I stand with you than be reminded of the lies a thousand times over and always unsure.

Honestly? Being the honest ones loses a lot of people and it doesn’t just hurt the one who feels sleighted. When you think the honest friend is out to hurt you, you should probably check your insecurities because they’re the ones that will be there with you through it all of you let them. At least I will....
