Tom Gabel of Against Me! has come out and revealed she is a transgender. I’ve always been an admirer of Tom’s - and of Against Me! - and there’s no one I enjoy watching perform live then herself. She’s an amazing person to talk to one-on-one and someone that always leaves you with a smile. I’ve been a big fan of Against Me! ever since I started my teenage years. There’s always that one band growing up that you really connect with and hold onto, and for me that was Against Me! Over the years I’ve come to admire Tom more and more. She is a person that speaks from the heart and does what makes her happy. I’m sure coming out to her wife and family was probably the hardest thing she has ever had to do and for this I respect her so much more and wish her and her wife only the best for the future. If this means one of my favorite bands in the world will disband, so be it, as long as Tom is happy, I’m happy.
