1993. Mourning In The Winter Solstice

is the only EP by band Mythic.

Mythic is believed to be the first ever all-female fronted death metal band, formed in early 90’s. Bassist Mary Bielich and drummer Terri Heggen had been playing together after the breakup of a previous band, which Dana Duffey on guitar/vocals was the last member to join. unfortunately with members wanting to take the band in different directions they split up.

Not many fans have ever heard of this band. It’s a shame too, because this band was great. They didn’t last very long, but for those who have heard of them will always remember their sound. Not only were they good, they were the first all female band to do this kind of music. The guitarist and vocalist, Dana Duffey, had one of the most deepest voices I have ever heard in metal.
