The Denial, and Criticism of Yin Energy in Society.
Since the beginning of time, the Yin has been Vilified, from Adam and Eve, to Pandoras Box, we always see the Yin playing the bad guy.
The society we live in today is characterized by fast paced cities, stale, yet lively work spaces, the abandonment of faith, and advancement of logic, as well as rationality in the modern world. Wonderful, and horrible things are happening on the world stage right now, and it is equally a blessing and a curse to see the way events are unfolding. Why this may seem disjointed or unimportant to the theme of my blog, it is actually quite important, as the human collective conscious is what colors our perception of the twelve divine archetypes that we may embody on this terrestrial plane, and maybe even beyond.
In the zodiac, and in the planets themselves we have an abundance of Yin energy, which is repressed, and rejected in todays modern world. This in turn influences peoples perceptions of the planets, and signs who embody what is being denied in society, and they often times create negative or blatantly incorrect portraits of an energy, choosing to focus on a more accepted facet of expression, because it is more Yang.
The planet Venus, it is yin, and associated with the element Earth, and rules the signs of Taurus, and Libra. Venus in Astrology rules riches, style, self worth, harmony, beauty, art, aesthetic, creativity, the senses, relationships/flirting, and how you can relate to others. People paint this planets energy as extroverted. When in fact, the energy can and often times is, soft spoken, gentle, shy and subtly charming. People often paint Venus as an extroverted, spicy socialite, up to date on all the social trends, with a new person on their arm every other day, like the archetype can’t stop flirting, dare I say it may be downright philandering. While this can be true, Venus is also soft spoken, and quiet, visiting art galleries alone, reading poetry, painting, sculpting and taking time to style themselves in a way that’s not always trendy, and filled with romantic longing they are too shy to fulfill. I find many people reject the more Yin manifestation of this energy in favor of the Yang, because it is what society has groomed us to prefer, which then leads to a devaluing of Yin energy and it’s walks(paths) as a whole. We make Venus more Yang to except it.
The Moon is yet another yin planet, associated with the element of water, and rules emotionalism, sentimentality, instinct, nesting, and inner dialogue. The moon is soft, and yielding. A gentle energy that nurtures and cultivates, it is emotional, and prone to upsets. It is not logical, it rarely makes sense, it is very reactive, and can range from explosive to light and jubilant at the drop of a pen. In society, people with these traits aren’t taken seriously, they are either ostracized or put in a position of weakness or frailty, or unstable hot messes, when in fact, Lunar energy is one of the most supportive and encouraging out of all the planets.
The trends these planets share is gentleness, and harmony. Which are the most commonly rejected Yin qualities, while some of the more chaotic, and stressful Yin planets that require action, logic, dynamism and constant adaptation. Are loved.
