In life we are always given choices of direction, will we head toward righteousness and obide by the conceived notions of "success"? Or rather take a left in the direction of playing by ear, being an individual, being a free mind? I have always been an individual in a conformist crowd, and now am trying to find my own feet in a world that is mine for the taking....walk with me.

A call back to the past

Yes, it has been quite some time since I have written something for leisure. But it really is a liberating thing - an opportunity for me to express the creative voice inside, to remember that there is a voice/ a tone that is unique to me. 

I would hate for this post to devolve into a rant, but there is something that I wish to say. That something is that everyone has an opinion and everyone has the right to opinion. Someone blatantly disrespecting my right to have my own views and beliefs has pushed me to express my own.  Politics and religion are two of the more polarizing topics that people can discuss, as such, most societies that value harmony and fostering good relations deter members from speaking of the two topics. The slandering and display of utter disrespect toward another person with differing political religious views to yourself is completely unacceptable. We are not all the same, that is what makes life great...and interesting all of the same.

Expecting someone to have the same views and beliefs as you is naive, plain unrealistic and far too easy to do.  I ask all of you to keep this in mind when you meet someone with a different perspective and set of beliefs and values, to be appreciative of the fact that there are different views and values out there to make this world the interesting, awesome place that it is. I ask you to accept their view, try to understand their perspective on the matter, to display empathy instead of regressing in the state of apathy that only a lack of empathy can provide.  Go forth, meet people, meet perspectives and respect,learn and understand, full knowing that you would appreciate the same respect and courtesy to be shown to you.  Love always  SC
