Trapped in nostalgia

An illustration I made for an art book dedicated to different feelings. Naturally I picked nostalgia as it resonates with me a lot and I can't help but constantly mourn the world that is no longer there

I really can't stand people comparing Tumblr and Twitter saying how much better the Tumblr is, how much better it treats its artists and so on, meanwhile Twitter still provides better reach and here you just post in the void? I feel like talking to the wall here honestly

Continuing this Twitter Vs Tumbler discourse I also noticed one thing (maybe it's just my experience) but on Twitter your post has to make numbers for bots and "blue checks" to appear after the normal users decide that the post was interesting enough. On Tumbler these bots will be the only comments you'll ever get, especially if the post hasn't made anything. Boring ass platform, I don't know how to make it feel ANY alive

There's something ironically bitter about being from Russia, having to overcome all the possible internet restrictions that drain you and hinder your development to be able to share your original art online so some French boy, who seems to live a life I can only dream of, could copy your painting for his aesthetic profile and have a matcha walk afterwards. It's like go French boy go, I'll try to keep my online presence alive to keep inspiring you posers 🤣

Hi!! Discovered your art on Twitter and thought I give you a follow cause I usually use Tumblr. Your art is sooo cool and fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥. I was just wondering what art inspired your art style. It reminded me of ethiopian Iconography!

Thank you for supporting me on here! My art is inspired by a lot of things, Ethiopian iconography included, obviously 🤠

My key inspiration points are ancient art, 1920-s magazine illustration and modern book illustration and comics (though I don't read them often)

I browsed your entire blog and saw several posts about not hitting numbers, I want to say, don't worry. Older reuploads get bigger numbers because they're posted by people who already have an active following. By continuing to post on here, you're making yourself a platform and the people will eventually find you, one reblog at a time. New accounts, new stories, new tags, etc, always take some time to make numbers, I've found in posting my own work on here.

One more I missed. This refers to my post about wondering when my art will make numbers here and frankly speaking I know all that, I don't need this condescending tone to tell me it's hard to grow a platform. The problem is these reupload accs make me feel more seen than my own damn page, I love seeing people admiring my art at least via a middleman. I will continue posting on here as actively as I can, yet I'll still always be frustrated with this platform, that doesn't seem to provide the engagement it promises.

I just discovered your art and I love it! All your pieces are so beautiful! I love your lineart and colours especially. How do you get your colours to be so vibrant and rich in your digital art?

Hello! I'm very late to see this message, I apologise, still not used to this platform.

I've learnt basic color theory principles in traditional art and still apply them even to digital art. The only difference is that in any digital program you can adjust your colors with different overlay and correction layers, and I strongly recommend using tone curves, if you find that one curve combination that works just for you, it will make the whole picture more interesting and vibrant
