Session with Venla, dancer and previously working at a café
How are you?
impatient, expecting
When was your last coffee ?
Drank a huge energy drink, didn't sleep so much, woke at 3 and then drank coffee.
How was it to work at a café?
Depends on the café. In a smaller café place it felt good to provide this service that makes people happy and is part of their daily life. In a bigger café chain, it was not nice, lot of it due to the rhythm and the value centered around money.
Shall we make coffee ?
Yes, do you want some?
Do you want milk?
How does it smells?
It smells like Lento (the place of the session). Here sometimes the coffee is left on the machine and it starts to smell like burn coffee. The more you smell it the more you know the coffee is getting acid and I hate that.
Can you hold the last sip a little longer and express how it feels?
-raise up and drink the last sip while moving (hard). Feels good-movements : very wide and slow, going to the floor
Let’s make a paradigmatic change : this was your last cup of coffee
-after moving : I was collecting all that I don’t like about coffee and how bad it is for me
Let’s make another paradigmatic change : you don’t know what coffee is
-after moving and manipulating the material : dirty
(2 hours) Practice session with Anna, architecte
/watching the pot of coffee waste > so much adrenaline !
>Is it good soil for the plants? What part of this could be good for the plants?
>water + soil = skin tattoos (kid game)
/Watching the coffee ground spread on the floor > Maybe something can hidden in it ?
>It probably can be mixed with plaster, very porous material
/showing a hourglass movement made with hands letting coffee grounds fall >make a time measuring tool with coffee which is generally used to make us go quicker (energizer)
>Have you tried to wash away its color?
/watching the printed and dyed experiments > use it as a gradient to measure time (while it spread in the paper)
> КЧЛЁК , packaging to eat sunflower seeds
>other tradition : folded and cut out in star shape for christmas
>How to develop the experiment while remaining as simple as possible , to not create heavy machine production with waste material
>Somehow, connecting filters and coffee ground
> Warm up coffee and put it on the skin to heal?
> // Kamppi kappeli, candle holder in sand
> Russian drink more coffee than Finnish
