Wasn't really hyped for this until reviews came out saying it was a masterpiece. So, naturally, I had to give it a shot despite its 3 hour run-time. And man was I not disappointed.

If it were a straight up adaptation of the ancient poem then I really wouldn't have cared, but seeing what Nolan did to the conclusions the character has by the end of the story was what delighted me. The movie constantly speaks of an unknown enemy that could barge in at any moment to challenge their way of life, however, throughout the entire film we see how Odysseus is basically doing just that wherever he goes. And in the finale, we see the chickens come home to roost when he openly reflects and accepts how terrible it is to become the monsters we fear.
