still mad about how people seem to forget that annabeth held the sky longer than percy

bruh. annabeth is literally so amazing. i feel like some of her accomplishments aren’t spoken of enough.

she held up the sky way, way, way longer than percy.

she ran away from home when she was seven.

she singlehandedly outsmarted a bunch of patriarchal, misogynistic dead guys

and arachne, with a broken leg mind you (facing her worst fear, which was of spiders)

survived tartarus!!!

again, ran away when she was seven

singlehandedly outsmarted a cyclops when she was seven

built a really cool, extremely complex structure out of building blocks when she was seven

um? outsmarted countless gods and goddesses???

pissed off the queen of olympus and only had to deal with stepping in shit

apollo himself, an all powerful god (well, until recently), is afraid of her

she is often looked to for guidance and seen as the leader in most circumstances. even jason grace looks to her for guidance

leo is afraid of her

reyna liked her a lot, within a few minutes of knowing her.

she was given the sole responsibility of redesigning mount olympus

daedalus gave her his laptop. (and then fucking rick made her lose it.)

• the whole outsmarting arachne part is Even Better when you consider that she literally stopped functioning properly the moment the normal-sized spiders appeared in the thrill ride o’ love in tlt, like talk about conquering your worst fears man (#characterdevelopment)

• literally went through so much shit? ?? family problems (neglect and exclusion), loss of one friend and the betrayal of another, two people she wouldn’t have been able to survive without when she ran away from home, the two people who brought her under their wing without so much as a second thought after seven years of negligence, and then had to see one after the other slip away (thalia did come back though and i wish their relationship had been fleshed out more because it deserves that but well)

• came to accept and appreciate tyson, although the cyclopes she stabbed in the foot back then definitely still is a potent part of her traumatic experiences

• i mean it seems like people look up to her as someone of superiority more than they actually want to befriend her, in effect of her alienating disposition (her intelligence leads to people seeing her as someone of authority and reliance, and is thus inherently ostracising); that’s why whoever’s got the nerve to break through the wall she constantly surrounds herself with is first going to get on her nerves, but will eventually wear on her enough for her to reveal her vulnerability and trust me if you pay attention that’s exactly what happens in pjo between percy and annabeth
