Badass Arm-Fold: One of the few ways to indicate that you are a badass or at least hellishly ambitious. badasses tend to fold their arms in front of them. When you see one doing such pose, you know they are badass or remarkably powerful, or so calm they got the situation in control or at least harbor great ambition. It is also a symbol of cockiness. Bonus points if they have impressive muscles.
The Chew-Toy: An odd sort of polar opposite to The Woobie, The Chew Toy is a character the audience loves specifically because his or her misery amuses them so. The Chew Toy is roughed up or messed with on a constant basis… and is always, always used for comic effect and treated with a light touch, generally glossing over the meaner undertones of the idea.

expressive hair: Either it’s unconscious telekinesis or itsy-bitsy teeny-weeny muscles (or just the animators being weird!), but however it’s managed, the character’s hair is independently mobile and responsive to their moods. Sometimes it’s nothing more than a pigtail that sticks out straight in defiance of gravity when the character’s shocked or frightened, but it can go so far as fully prehensile braids that shape themselves into hearts, question marks, and other iconic forms.
