cooper howard would rather believe that the ills of america are caused by individual bad actors, even if the bad actor in question is the love of his life and mother of his child, than admit that the system he has killed to defend is the problem. he would rather imagine that the demon in the snow was just a demon rather than an engineered predator that his superiors set loose on the battlefield with no regard for human lives. he can't imagine a world where his own government is culpable for the very things he was told only happened in red countries, because he doesn't want to see himself as a villain. after all, he's always justified in the movies, right? always plays the good guy, right?

NO Ezra does not think of Kanan and Hera as his parents. Neither does Sabine. They both already have parents and have meaningful, complicated relationships with them. That is a huge part of their characters and a major driving force of the plot at certain points.

HOWEVER Kanan and Hera absolutely do think of them both as their kids after awhile. Caring for them and supporting them and learning how to be what they need is just as much a part of THEIR characters and ALSO drives the story.

This is part of what makes Rebels interesting! Found family is not about people slotting into neat mom-dad-2.5 kids dynamics! But parental instincts can be a part of it! Love and family in all its forms is what Rebels is all about baybeee!!!

People talk about the conflict in Gaza as it is shown in the news. As soon as the ceasefire was announced, everyone treated the issue like a hot ball they wanted to throw away, and no one talks about reconstruction anymore.

Nine out of ten homes in Gaza have been completely destroyed, and the city is still being bombed. Its people continue to be killed — tonight alone, more than 100 people were martyred, most of them children and women. No reconstruction has begun, and their children are camping on the ruins of their destroyed homes, in the freezing cold, as winter rapidly approaches.

Before anything else, they are hoping the ceasefire will hold.

I’ve been in contacts with Yousef who documents his current life in Gaza on the Tumblr account @engineerfromgaza and on side accounts @hope4gazaengineer and @hopeforgaza. He also has a Twitter account https://x.com/yousef_gaza23 where he posts in a similar manner. Yousef is a sole provider for a family of nine people, he lives with his mother Um Yousef, four sisters Nada, Heba, Aya and Samar who has three children: Talen, Malek and Joud. Yousef himself used to work as an engineer and pursue his studies but after his family lost their home and everything they owned due to the genocide, they’ve been displaced and are facing an extremely dire situation due to the humanitarian aid not being properly allowed in Gaza for over six months. The prices have skyrocketed and Yousef is trying his best to feed his family of nine people and rebuild their life as the sole provider of the family who is now facing even further displacement due to Israel’s plans on seizing the Gaza City.

That’s why he created a GoFundMe campaign https://www.gofundme.com/f/engineer-in-need-of-support-for-himself-and-his-famil that you can also find on the pinned post on his Tumblr page @engineerfromgaza, it’s been verified by gazavetters as #578 on the spreadsheet. Unfortunately the camping has currently garnered very little attention and donations so it would make a world of difference if you were able to share it.
