Despite her cold and calculating glare, the blue-eyed boy didn’t lose his smile. The concept of someone trying to manipulate him was something that Zhong simply couldn’t wrap his head around. The world was such a vivid, beautiful place in his eyes. War was practically nonexistent; if he even knew what war was. Finally losing his smile— only for it to be replaced with a look of child-like curiosity, he tilted his head to the side. “Stupid…?” He cooed, blinking as though contemplating her words. “Stupid…" He repeated yet again, looking down. Whatever it was he was trying to figure out from her words was completely dismissed as she hoisted him up. Eyes widening slightly, he smiled warmly, stretching his body up a bit to get a better view. “Aaaah…!” His topaz-hued eyes twinkling in delight as he finally got a good view, he nodded absentmindedly at her words. “Mm, Nanfeng…” He smiled. "They’re hatching… The eggs are moving…!" The excitement was almost too much for his small body to bear as he tried to lean even closer to see. "They’re all wiggly…!”

There would never be a more possessive woman than Nanfeng, especially when it came to her small husband. She wished she could have had the blissful ignorance that Zhong had but unfortunately there was none. She knew what was happening and as such, she adjusted her heart to match the cruelty of the world. Ignoring him as he repeated her insult to him, her eyes were glued to the tree up above. It was almost enjoyably cruel to see new life born to this chaotic time. Shifting the little Sima to her other arm while keeping her attention to the hatching eggs, she let out a soft sigh. "Why do you find things like this to be so entertaining, Zhong. It's rather boring. Things that are born, end up dead anyways."
