the night sky for once cleared the way for blankets of stars to shine their brilliance on then. never one to stay indoors for very long , ygritte made herself comfortable towards the forest near everly and lingering on the border. she never let her guard down entirely so she had the company of a pocket knife , a reminder of how different everything felt in comparison to her home. the presence of the other acknowledged as she looked off to their direction but not looking at them entirely.Â
â beautiful night , eh ? â the accent coloured her voice. â nothing compared to where iâm from ; less lights. â
truthfully, ellie hadnât paid much attention to the sky at all, much less the night sky. sheâd watched to keep an eye on the weather, to make sure it didnât look like it would storm soon, but sheâd otherwise pushed most thoughts of it to the back of her mind. there had been more pressing concerns (where she was, where the clickers were) that sheâd been busy trying to figure out. but itâs calm, and there isnât anyone or anything trying to kill her, so she feels comfortable letting her guard down.  âyeah,â she agrees, looking upward. thereâs a smile growing on her face.  âi - i hadnât noticed how different it is from where iâm from, but itâs still pretty. thereâs less stars here, i think.â

âand what, pray tell, is this?â klaus questions from his seat on the floor of his brotherâs dorm room. he knows he has the smallest tendency to tune out when his brother is working, but he always pays enough attention to know when the other has said something important, or rather, when heâs said something klaus might understood.  âis it delores, because i think you and i might need to have a talk about your intentions towards her.â

mechaniiismsâ:
HOW COULD SHE FORGET IT ? with someone of her calibur â mistakes rise from the gravel on rare occasions. lips anger caused features to twitch with a violent premise â her hand clenched around the wrench and she flung it to where it hit the side of the opening doorway - nearly hitting her visitor. blue spheres bright with an emotional fire that came with the unsuccessful attempt at a project she slaved over for a non-stop forty eight hours â coffee practically drowned out the blood in her veins.Â
â some people knock before they come in. â she murmured before turning back to her work table , motor oil splashed on her abdomen as she wore her usual work uniform - a tube top with overalls tied around her waist , olive shaded work gloves now being peeled from their place. â must be important. â
dracoâs gaze flips between the wrench and the door a few times before landing on the girl. âi did knock,â he retorts, ânobody answered so i thought it would be empty in here.â heâs about to offer to leave when the words die in his mouth as he sees her project. the wizard hasnât been in the muggle world long enough to recognize most of what sheâs working with, and his interest is piqued. âwhat are you working on?â

Her fingers flipped through the pages of her book, sipping her tea slowly as she let the heat plume in her features. She was still wrapping her mind around being here, all thisââ living in a new place with no one she knew. Again. Glancing up out the window for a moment, before shifting the gaze to the person at the sat at the counter, âdo you ever get used to being in a new place?â she asked, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, as she glanced around to all the strange faces, that she hadnât seen before. âI still find that place as insane as back home,â she added.
pride is taken aback, at first, by the stranger seemingly trying to speak to him. heâs only in the diner because it had seemed a good place to get to know more about the town heâs gotten stuck in. thereâs no food on the counter in front of him, only a small glass of water. âi havenât yet,â he replies. âbut iâm certain i will soon.â thereâs the slightest bit of a smile on his face. âwhere are you from?â

the problem with a dorm is that people care what he writes on the walls, or that he does it at all. itâs fiveâs worst habit. built out of an era where buildings could be canvas because there was no one else left to complain about it. here itâs a notebook thatâs probably more suited to artists - large, blank pages, and plenty of space.
he just canât discern how or why this has unfolded in the way it has. every jump heâs ever done on that kind of scale has involved mistakes, and maybe he just didnât compensate for the amount of people he was trying to bring back, but never has he moved himself sideways and his whole family in the intended direction.
so the notebook is a mess, as expected. it gets worse when he occupies a corner at books or beans and has space to spread out his papers on the table, a few utterly irrelevant textbooks stacked up for appearanceâs sake. âwhat?â he snaps. any shape that hovers at the edge of his vision is a nuisance at this point. âiâm not looking to walk you through all of this, before you ask about it.â he gestures vaguely down at the whole table.
lately, the only addiction klaus has been willing to give into in caffeine. books or beans isnât quite his first choice for a place to go, but itâs also the only coffee shop open at the time. he walks through the door, tripping over his own feet, and goes straight to the counter to place his usual order.
he turns to find a seat while he waits for the drink to be made, only to spot a seemingly familiar face, hunched over a notebook and desperately scrawling away. the medium is about to go over when his drink is called out, and he quickly grabs the cup before ambling over.
âdo my eyes deceive or is that little number five?â klaus asks before sitting down across from his younger brother. he waves off the comment five had made, knowing full well he wouldnât understand it and wouldnât care to. what he would like to know, though, is, âwas there a reason you dumped me here all my own?â

â  more  or  less,  â  he  responded,  a  hint  of  amusement  to  his  tone  as  he  eyed  the  other,  the  unconscious  body  left  carelessly  on  the  ground.   it  was  obvious  that  it  was  no  accident  and  perhaps  the  hybrid  allowed  his  anger  to  get  the  better  of  him.   in  his  defense,  though,  the  man  kept  bothering  klaus,  leaving  him  with  no  other  choice,  essentially.   not  to  mention,  he  definitely  couldâve  done  worse,  considering  he  was  very  much  still  alive,  simply  knocked  out.   well,  how  was  that  for  evolution?   â  perhaps  he  should  learn  not  to  run  his  mouth  in  future  instances,  as  i  do  fear  that  might  just  be  what  gets  him  into  trouble  again.  â

klaus frowns at the other's words. he hadn't meant to stumble upon the... well, the medium didn't know how exactly he'd describe the scene before him, but accident was far from it. he can tell the fallen man isn't dead at least; he's seen enough unconscious people and dead people to tell the difference, though that doesn't stop the pang of worry in him. "mhmm, and what did he say for you to do this to him?"
get up, weâre going. where? to save the world. oh, is that all? okay.
