When comparing the role of Sir Bedivere with his fellow comrades he is nothing short of being the mother/big brother figure. He cares greatly for those around him and the one that he serves. Though his role is not as active as the others in legend he plays the part of guardian to King Arthur well.

As for family, he has at least one…

Do they buy into the “happily ever after” ideal? What’s their standard?

Like any boy he believed in such with all his heart. Yet with age came wisdom and the cruelty of the world which taught him otherwise. If there was a standard to uphold it would be anything but the way his ‘story’ ended.

Being the babysitter sworn guardian of King Arthur made room for little mistakes. Everyone knew that if their ruler was far too busy worrying over her stomach to remember all the fine details of life. Thus it fell upon him.

As his response drew to a close, the brightness in his smile waned for the briefest of moments and took on a false plasticity as if he were but a doll with its lips stretched in an unnatural way; almost imperceptible, if one were not paying close attention.

Though such words carried respect they also left his mouth with a bitter tone. Yes, that was right, how could he forget. This city having clouded his memories. It was him alone that had stayed the longest. Him alone that had survived everything by the side of their King. Surpassing all to see the death of Arthur.  

"At times I wish I had not been so diligent with my duties." If he had slacked at times other lives may have been spared from their fate, even Sir Gawain's. It was not at every waking hour that King Arthur needed knights. "Pray tell Sir Gawain.. How is it that you appear here?"

"I did not think staying vigilantly at the side of our King was a thing for women to admire." His family was graced with the nickname of being perfect beings in looks but still. One normally did not open their heart to the silent sentinel but the more talkative 'sun'.

[Clumsy as it may sound, Shirou had spaced out and had walked nose first into a pole that was on the way. Seeing how he was walking quite fast to catch up a bus, the hit was bad enough to cause his nose to start bleeding.]

Ah, should’ve been more careful.

[As he was holding his nose from the pain, someone politely enough came to help and checked him swiftly and then offered a handkerchief for him to use. He took it and wiped out the blood before thanking the man.]

Ah thanks, I’m sorry for the trouble!

[And then he proceeded to press his nose with the handkerchief in hopes of the blood to stop from flowing.]

This boy was something else. Never before had he seen someone willingly run into an inanimate object. Nor recover so swiftly at that.

"It would have been wrong to not give assistance." Lucky for the youth he had been around. Double the luck that he held no issue with the sight of blood. There had been far worse to be found on the battlefield long ago. "I can only hope you to be more mindful of surroundings in the future."
