[He's not all too surprised by what else Brenda has to say. Luke definitely seemed proud of being the professor's apprentice, that much had been very clear from their previous conversation. He didn't see much wrong with it, though. If he was glad to have that position, then he should show it. But maybe that wasn't the best thing to say right then.]
