the idea kind of takes after gembond in that gembond breaks the skin/accent rule that necessitates use of the official lines and shading, also im thirsty for tert genes ngl

it’s loosely based on the baldwin materials, but it’s shinier on dragons for some reason.

here are some of the guardian subspecies i spoke about in this post!

given that guardians are from the sea, the marine guardian up top is the archetypal guardian from which all others descended. it can fly (badly) but it spends most of its life underwater. its legs (and the legs of most of the guardians here) might seem bulky but they are in fact laterally flattened, like flippers

the coastal guardian is the most wide-ranging and successful of guardian subspecies, but it’s just a cross between inland and marine and isn’t illustrated here.

all these dragons, with the exception of the inland guardian, will spend the majority of their time in the water, circumstances allowing

the smallest is the inland guardian, followed by the freshwater, while the largest is a toss-up between polar and abyss

Accent contest in the style of the Chopped cooking show, using the random chest items as the baskets.

“There are three rounds: Rusted, Iron, and Gilded. Each round comes with its own chest of mystery items and you must use every item in the chest in some way. Each round is has a deadline. When the clock runs out, our judges will critique your work on skill, faithfulness to the items, and creativity. If your accent doesn’t cut it, you will be denied.”
