because of his abyssal nature he has slightly creepy eyes and natural bioluminesence, and also his gills don’t close so he has to wrap his neck with stiff cloth so they don’t dry out. i’ll have a better go at some other point but anyway there’s the boy

he used to wear a lot of jewellery in his ear fin things but the pirates stole it all. his gold forehead thing was taken too, but rich somehow scrounged up enough cash to buy tiber a replacement at one of the markets the clan visited.

Revamped design of Melial, a dancer from the territory of Grenoll.

Some random facts:

>Typically dancers are masked and completely covered, but Melial’s unique role as the head of the Breathbringer in Grenoll’s most famous performance allows him to bear not only skin, but his entire face and chest.

>Being exposed to so many starstruck foreigners has fostered in Melial a fascination with the Athenaeum’s love of gold, perfumes, and other things deemed frivolous by Grenollian standards.

>He acts demure in front of an audience, but is actually horrible and haughty. His fellow dancers despise him.

also in my lore, the lightweaver has never once accepted fault for creating emperors, or for allowing the hewn city (which is totally shade infested) to exist.

but that may just be because we have a very vocal anti-lightweaver faction in my clan and she’s just like “...are you kidding me”

i’m trying to think of interesting fire stuff but my brain has snagged on kyle’s mention of gluttony / entropy and how it relates to arcane, and how that ties in with my feelings on Arcane being a fundamentally selfish flight in terms of lore. It’s the flight that pulls shit without regards to consequences, the flight of WANT and MORE. More energy more understanding more knowledge more findings.

yes definitely. I feel like Lightning is ostensibly more goal oriented but sometimes that Goal is “what the fuck does this new energy source do” and all consequences are thrown out the window.
