A Summer House welcome. “Sit back and unwind to a time and place where the warm sun hits your face and you haven’t a care in the world. Dips in the lake, running in the grass, lighting bugs, and the smell of fresh- baked cookies.
Welcome to an endless summer.
Mosaic the Droomtuin, in the Willem-Alexander Pavilion of Keukenhof, NL.
Mosaic the Droomtuin — Lina de Gier writes:
The special thing about the mosaic the Droomtuin is that it has been made of self-developed “clay” from the old trees of the Floriade site.
This gives the trees a new “life” in a work of art.
Each of the 35,000 pieces are hand-clad and painted. They are the works of art in themselves. I also let other people paint or clay a number of pieces on each of the 25 panels. Or have them make a drawing, which I translated into the mosaic between my designs. Everything was good, everyone was allowed to contribute in their own way.
By letting others participate in my work, I also had to let go and be very flexible.
Go by the flow.
I wanted to make a cheerful, accessible work of art in this way of working. I want to involve people in art and the story behind it, creativity, recycling, connection and nature.
Every particle matters!

Jameson Blender's Dog (Part of the Whiskey Makers Series)
The Blender's Dog is a whiskey that celebrates the art of marrying whiskeys.
Distillers are concerned with all things pot still, Coopers obsess over barrels and Blenders need to know the best of both worlds.
The Blender's Job is a superbly balanced, complex whiskey that delivers butterscotch sweetness with a prickle of spice and tannins. Making whiskey requires a fair deal of science, but blending is art.
"I wanted to create harmony and complexity, an infusion of flavour that perfectly fills your mouth and nose. My whiskey has a rich creamy mouth feel, with the sweetness of butterscotch, giving way to the prickle of spices and tannins". -- Billy Leighton, Head Blender
