One major thing I gotta give the Loki series major props for is how they portrayed female characters. Yes, the romance was unnecessary, but never once did we get a sexist remark, not once did they try to sexualize any of the female characters. They had proper armour and costumes, all fully practical and badass. They also casted an actress that is Tom's age to play Sylvie which I adore. Thank you for that, it was so damn refreshing to see.

i remember the day pictures came out of nat having blond hair for infinity war and everyone lost their freaking mind, but that has so much meaning now??? she dyed it after seeing her family. after seeing yelena. at first glance, they don’t look like sisters (obviously), but they are sisters. nat could have dyed her hair for five thousand different reasons, but maybe she just wanted to be like her sister and have belova blond hair. maybe she wanted people to be able to look at the two of them next to each other and go “are you guys related??” so not only did nat have the vest when she was fighting in infinity war, she had the blond hair too. like her sister. yelena fought by natasha’s side the entire time without even being there and i will now be dying my hair blonde to be a romanoff/belova sibling because i love them so freaking much

Since Black Widow has been released, I’d like to remind everyone that Yelena Belova is CANONICALLY aroace in the comics! It makes me so happy knowing that there is an aroace character in a major Marvel movie, even if it isn’t explicitly stated. Asexual and aromantic representation is so, so important, and I’m proud to have such an amazing character like Yelena to represent our community.

Tbh one of the darkest moments in Black Widow and one that hit me really hard when it happened was when Dreykov pretends to slap Natasha and she flinches away from him. It felt like a painfully realistic reaction that an abuse victim would have, someone who knows to expect violence because she grew up with it. Even if she knew about the pheromone lock, the powerlessness in that moment was real, and her reaction was definitely real too, it’s so clear compared to when she is antagonizing him to get him to break her nose. That almost slap was just a glimpse at the violence and abuse Natasha was subjected to since she was a little girl, just a glimpse at the true darkness of Natasha’s story, and it felt disturbingly real in a way little else from the film did in regards to this matter.
