Jungle Boy Jack Perry. 29. AEW. NJPW. Wherever the hell I want. Jungle Boy is dead. 1x TNT Champion. No more Mr. Nice Guy. It's all fun and games until you start standing up for yourself. That's when you really find out who you can count on. Screw with anyone I care about, you'll regret it. just an rp blog // not jack.
desperate to shed the jungle boy image, jack took a gamble on himself. from thinking about quitting the business to embarking on his dream trip to japan - looking back, he wouldn't change it. he's learned, he's grown. some say for the better, some say the opposite. but, he's content either way. gone was the people pleasing good guy. if anyone thought he was a problem, he'd be that. now, he's not shy with his attitude or mouthing off when necessary. but, behind everything? the same good heart kid is still there. if you're close, he's loyal beyond means. but, if you screw over anyone he cares for? good luck. just ask callum newman.
jack's relationship with anna jay is not canon here, they are simply friends.
muse is single / heterosexual, ships via chemistry only. dm for plots.
kenny omega | since joining aew, kenny had become like a mentor to jack. the man often offered advice and everything in between. it wasn't long before he grew close to the older man, looking at him as a bit of a father figure as well. when issues arose, kenny had his back and he's grateful for it. tba.
anna jay | it started with a cup of coffee. a local coffee shop had messed up his order, allowing him to keep the mistake. being the first person he saw backstage, he offered it to anna. she was quick to befriend him, both of them coming out of their respective shells. now, she's not just his best friend - she's basically a sister. and like any brother, he protects her with his life. tba.
gwen kidd | when jack was in his fuck boy era, he'd started fooling around with the woman. when he realized that it pissed off her brother, that was an added bonus. while they no longer fool around, she's his best friend. tba.
megan bayne | in the beginning, he thought she'd be the one for him. while they had a good relationship, after a year, the love started to fade. not so much that he didn't love her, he just wasn't in love. he's struggling to handle the break up despite it being mutual, he's putting too much blame on himself. tba.
" That's because when we're doing that, we're just thinking with our dick," he said with a small laugh. " But I get it," he said with a shrug. " Sometimes it's hard not to notice others' happiness. Especially when you're not." he said. " Also no ones stopping you from just going back to being a slut again." he said with a grin. " Lord knows I've contemplated it. I just say my attraction to older women do be getting me into trouble sometimes"
"All I know is I'm not looking for anything any time soon." Or ever. But, that was the quiet part he didn't say out loud. He knew better, with his luck it would have just worried people more. "That's a good point," he laughed. "At least if I wanna get laid, I know I have Gwen. And she keeps me somewhat sane too." After he was brought his second drink, he took a sip. "Older women usually are trouble, true."
My sister being in town and actually agreeing to have dinner with me wasnโt on my bingo card. I still want to put her boyfriend in an arm bar though.
" I mean, when you see someone you were with unintentionally moving on, even if it wasn't what she planned, it still stings," he said calmly. " Pretty sure that was part of Mara's issues with Monika and me; she didn't like seeing how quickly I had moved on. Not that it was ever my intention; life just happens the way it's meant to." he motioned for another beer as he finished his own. " I feel like no matter how you end up seeing your last partner with someone, it kind of sucks, especially if you haven't gotten to that pace yet."
Jack just shrugged though he knew the other man wasn't exactly wrong. He just didn't want to think too much of it, hoping to ignore it. Was that the best idea? Probably not. But, he was too stubborn to do anything else. "If you're happy, you don't always see how that affects anyone else, especially an ex. Can't blame her, shit just sucks," he finished off his drink before requesting another. "You know, I didn't have any of these problems when I just slept around. Go figure."
" I felt that." he said calmly sipping at his beer now. " Everything didn't seem it was going to be like this a couple months ago." he said with a snort. " I thought my most worries back than were just Mara trying to piss off Monika." he said with a snort. " But here I am getting screwed over by the man I was told not to worry about." he said with a laugh.
"Not surprised those two didn't like each other," he commented. "It's always the ones that you're told you don't have to worry about. Just makes you feel worse." He sighed as he looked down at his drink for a moment. "You know, I always knew she was way out of my league," he admitted, making a face. "Probably should've seen it coming that we wouldn't lost. As much as I thought I was okay with it being mutual, seeing her at work with Finlay just gets to me."
"Starting off strong, I see," he said with a small chuckle. Not that he minded it wasn't like either of them was there specifically to get shitfaced after all. They deserved it after everything they had gone through lately. "Cheers," he said, clinking his bottle against the other man's cup before he downed it. " Shits kind of hit the fan for both of us lately."
"It's my usual choice," Jack shrugged. If nothing else, he was just a creature of habit. He liked what he liked and that was enough for him. He'd just wanted to relax, to maybe turn off his brain for a bit. Trust him to be a chronic overthinker, a trait he inherited from his father. "Cheers," he responded, downing his own drink. After Kevin's next words, he couldn't help snorting. "A few months ago, this wasn't where I thought I'd end up."
Kevin scoffed a little when the other man said the first round was on him. "That's not allowed, actually," he said with a small laugh. "You've already done enough; I'm getting the first round," he stated, not giving the other man a chance to argue, as he pulled his wallet out. " Don't worry about tonight, its on me." he said with a chuckle ordering his own beer and motioning for Jack to order whatever he wanted.
He shouldn't have been surprised that Kevin had insisted the opposite. "I probably should've seen that coming," he laughed. "Okay, fine. I'll allow it." He held his hands up in defeat, accepting it. The next round would just be on him, he was fine with that. Given his mood, he probably shouldn't have started off with a jack and coke, but he chose to anyway.
It was something he probably needed to do more of: be social with other people. He hadn't been doing much of that since everything had happened. So when Jack suggested he needed a drink, the other man was quick to offer company. Figured it wouldn't hurt. Plus, it gave Kevin the means to finally make his way to the other man's house. After all, he'd be staying there till he figured out his own place.
He was thankful that Jack had offered him a place because he really had no clue where he was going to go. He really couldn't go back home at the moment and knew that would just be admitting to some failure he didn't want to have with his family. It didn't take long for the two men to reach the bar, since they'd Ubered from Jack's place.
Leave it to Jack to be the one to take a mutual break up and turn it into something that was his fault. No matter what anyone said, he still blamed himself. He wasn't attentive enough, he wasn't mature enough, he wasn't big enough. The list went on and seeing Megan at work with Finlay didn't help either. He hadn't really been the most social, but that was something he was trying to work on. When he overheard Kevin needing a place to stay, he offered. One, because it was simply the right thing to do. And two, because he figured the company wouldn't be so bad.
He'd caught himself before slipping into a more depressive mood. It helped that Kevin offered joining him for drinks. He wasn't going to complain about that. Once they were at the bar, he was grateful it hadn't taken too long. "First round's on me," he insisted as they walked up to the bar.
I can sort of relate.. maybe not the dad on tv stuff but like me hearing my dadโs voice in old memories on social media is just crazy to me too. Whatโs your drink of choice?
It just sneaks up on me sometimes, I hate that. Every time I think I'm used to it, turns out, I'm not. But, according to my therapist, that's normal. If I'm home, I'm just knocking back beers. Otherwise, anything with whiskey in it.
