During the course of the show, while consoling Inej about the person she killed, Kaz still doesn’t hold her or do normal things that people do when someone is grieving. When Inej was hurt he didn’t rush to support her even though he clearly wanted to. Anyone could see the pain he was going through seeing Inej hurt but he never once moved to help her. But this was not because he didn’t want to, it was because he couldn’t. THIS is what I call good writing. THIS is what I call good acting. Even though this scene is so minor, it is still so moving and impactful because it begins to show the true depth of Kaz’s touchphobia and Inej’s trauma. WOW. Im in awe, They really did keep true to the story and i’m so glad about that.

I'm sorry but can we talk about how stunningly accurate every single Helnik scene was?

Some of those scenes were word-for-word identical, like I literally lost count of how many quotes and moments they took directly from the book and onto the screen.

We asked for a true to text adaptation, and obviously there were going to be some complications because of how the two series were to be mixed, but one part that they were free to do perfectly and separately was Helnik.

And they did. not. dissapoint.

This will forever be remembered as the first time a book-to-tv adaptation met fans' expectations and more.

The Matthias/Nina scenes were almost word for word, scene for scene from the books. So well done I love them both so much.
