holds her hand
Her mind had been racing, trying to figure out the next step. What do they do now? They’re in an airship, flying away from the city in order to get their bearings. Ruby herself sat on the floor of the airship, trying to think of anything. They needed to find Oscar; They needed to find Qrow and probably Robyn too. Could they trust anyone in the military? Winter seemed trustworthy, since she let them go. But then again that was just a head start.
As the thoughts swirled in her mind, something cut through the storm. The clouds parted and there was peace. Turning her head, she saw Weiss now taking a seat on the floor beside her. She felt the chill to her partner’s skin, and instinctively parted her fingers so they could lace together with Weiss’s. Despite everything that was going on in her mind, all thoughts zeroed in on her.
“Everything is going to be okay, Weiss. Even though we’re in a tough situation, Atlas still has some of the best technology there is. Your sister is in good hands. And I’m going to do everything I can to set things right.” Ruby squeezes gently, looking at Weiss with such a warm smile. “I can’t do it along though, so will you stay by my side?”
