Mreh.
I'm still not loving the look of this. The missing hand doesn't exactly help, but the armor just isn't clicking. And the glowing sigils don't look as good as I thought they would.
I might try to go for a metallic black as the main color, then if that still sucks, I'll probably step up to a cool grey instead and do the undersuit in black instead.
Also not sold on the sigils on the cape. They might be too big, I'm not sure.
Rengh. Not sure how much of this dissatisfaction is legitimate and how much is due to being very tired and also sad about losing the hand.
Open to suggestions, because I'm starting to feel like I'm never going to crack this color scheme. Which would probably be better for my finances in the long run, but it makes me sad.
Weh.
I think it might be the visual balance. From the back the black and red are the majority, splitting the model evenly and the red is broken up with those runes, which looks great.
From the front there's white, silver, red and black all over. Which isn't to say your painting is bad at all, I just think the front doesn't let the eye lock on. Squinting at it, I think it's the white on the fur and the scrolls. It's making a frame that's brighter than most of the mini, when they're accessories and shouldn't hold the eye that much.
If you can push their colors back to more muted that will help. But also if you can fit them in your color scheme that would probably help more. Also I think the saturation is pretty low everywhere on the mini except the orange and the highlighted red on the back. Changing up how bright the reds are will probably help almost as much as adding more red.
