Chapter 1: The Community Chapter 2: Serenity Chapter 3: Brielle
emmakeller:
She shook her head, tears coming to her eyes. If Laurie had told anyone other than her, it would’ve been Peter. “No… Do you- do you think they took her back? Why didn’t she take me with her?”
So maybe he wasn’t as good as Laurie at making Emma calm down, but he knew it was his responsibility now. Peter gestured for the girl to approach, opening up his arms and holding his breath, trying to hide the fact that he also wanted to cry. He just wished he was better at this, better at knowing what exactly he was supposed to say... Would saying the truth hurt her? Should he lie? Should he lie just to protect her? “I don’t know, Emma... I don’t know where they took her... And I’m sure she would have taken us all with her if she could...” He said softly, hoping that he didn’t sound as unsure as he felt.
emmakeller:
“You don’t know where she went, do you?”
@peterwhitmanshrp
Peter knew that eventually he was gonna have to talk to Emma about Laurie. He knew that not only was he now responsible for Emma, but that he would have to be available for her to rely on him. But he couldn’t bring himself to doing that. At least not before he managed to process the situation himself, as selfish as that could be.
But now there was no way to ignore this, no way to postpone it. He had to be honest and he had to be strong. Peter sat up on his bed and sighed, his eyes focusing on the girl standing by the door. “No. I don’t.” He admitted sadly, watching her carefully. “She didn’t... Didn’t say goodbye to you either?”
dallasambrose:
Dallas loved seeing people try new things, especially when it was something he enjoyed. Watching people getting out of their comfort zones was interesting and unique. He found it almost adorable the way Peter approached the drums testing each sound out before playing. Very unlike himself, who just went for it whatever he was doing. As he started banging away Dallas could see an air of confidence surrounding him that was all too contagious. Before he knew it he was jumping up and cheering his performance on.
He found himself lost in the thrill of playing the drums, of allowing himself to be free and make some noise. But as soon as Dallas started cheering, Peter looked up and laughed, truly happy about the moment. After a moment, he felt his muscles start to hurt, and gradually came to a stop, still laughing softly. “That... That was awesome!” He said, panting a little. “I wish I could play like you, but... Still! That was pretty cool!”
I'm telling the truth! (from Peter)
“How can you be sure?” Even though Aspen wanted to believe him, she still had her doubts. “Well…. where was this ‘ghost’? What did it do?”
@peterwhitmanshrp
aspensaspirin:
“And it…..” Aspen tried to guide his words. For once, she hadn’t been in the library so she couldn’t say for herself what had happened. Surely there had to be a sensible, logical reason for this.
He shook his head, unable to get the words out of his mouth. Peter felt incredibly frustrated, and even more scared now that he was having trouble speaking. And he knew exactly why that was happening. It wasn’t because of the ghost he had seen at the library. It was actually because of his condition. Had he imagined the ghost? Had his brain not only decided to make him unable to form proper words, but also make him hallucinate? “It d--” Peter gulped, feeling the anger and frustration rising in him. “P-- Pushed...”
sebastianknxws:
“It shouldn’t,” Sebastian stated, not wanting to promise anything as he looked over at the clearly anxious boy with a tight smile. “Allergies are hardly anything, for you it just seems that your sinuses are a bit swollen and it seems that you have a lot mucus which is causing the stuffy nose and the coughing…but really just some water, rest and some allergy medication should make that go away.”
Peter let out a sigh of relief, nodding and looking away, clearly relaxing a little bit. Although he now had that piece of information, added to the fact that he knew that allergies were not contagious, Peter was still a little reluctant to walk away and go on with his day knowing that his body was reacting to something like that. “Are you sure?” He asked, looking up at the doctor again. “Can I get that in writing?” The boy added seriously.

“How can you be sure?” Even though Aspen wanted to believe him, she still had her doubts. “Well…. where was this ‘ghost’? What did it do?”
@peterwhitmanshrp
“I...” Peter shook his head, fidgeting a little. For some reason he couldn’t get the words out of his mouth. It was almost like he couldn’t pronounce them. “Library.” He mumbled, hoping that she had managed to understand what exactly he was saying.
aspensaspirin:
“Hey, wait up”
“Was it you, who did that? Don’t worry… I’m not going to tell anyone.”
“Me?” Peter looked around and stopped walking, waiting for the other to approach him. “Did what?” He asked, gulping quietly and hoping that she was not talking about the tray of food he had dropped on his way to the backyard before running away from the crime scene in shame.
{Flashback} Friendship Update
He won. How? He had no idea. Peter wasn’t even sure how he was even put on the run, and he definitely had never expected to have his name announced as a winner, but there he was, trying to understand what exactly he was supposed to do next, and glancing at Laurie and Emma every ten seconds to make sure they were okay.
In between glances, Peter landed his eyes on Camille just as they announced her name as his partner, and he couldn’t help but smile. Of course he knew Laurie wanted the title, but if he had to win with someone else, at least it was someone he not only knew, but someone who was nice. “Hey. I guess they want us to dance?” He said, walking towards her with a smile on his face. “Do you want to?”

sebastianknxws:
After scribbling something down on his clipboard, Sebastian pressed his brows together as he formulated a diagnosis. “Well, it doesn’t look like anything too serious,” he informed the other, walking back towards them; “It really just looks like allergies. It’s common around this time of year with spring and all for them to be really bad.”
Peter frowned at his words, finding it weird that the doctor was telling him that something that was going on with his body wasn’t actually too bad. That was definitely a first. “Allergies? Are you sure? And... Will that affect my... My other condition?”
dallasambrose:
“I gotta say my favorite thing is meeting all the new people.” Dallas couldn’t contain his excitement. “Hell yeah! It’ll be our secret!” Dallas jumped up and handed this sticks over. His sudden movement caused him to become lightheaded but he refused to let it show. “Just go for it. Fuck how it sounds its all about how it feels just make that shit feel good.” He smiled and sat himself down at the piano before he lost his footing.
Peter chuckled at his comment, nodding. “I have to agree. It’s pretty nice to be able to meet everyone,” he said. Laughing at Dallas’ reaction, he took the sticks and took a seat by the drums. His eyes studied the instruments in front of him as he listened to the other’s words and took in a deep breath. He couldn’t hold back an excited smile as he raised one of his hands holding the drumstick and brought it down against one of the drums. “Okay...” He mumbled to himself, repeating the action and trying out all of the drums in front of him, eventually getting to the cymbals. Then, relaxing a little bit more, Peter placed his feet on the pedals he had spotted, and tested them as well, before trying to keep a steady beat with one of them, whilst using the drumsticks to play. It didn’t sound good and he was sure that Dallas would be laughing at him, but it did feel good. He felt good. He felt free, he felt strong, he felt happy... He was making that sound, he was in charge of that, he was controlling it... Unlike everything else in his life.

“So your family’s always nearby? That sounds wonderful. It’s a long story, but basically it was destiny. I was meant to find them. Someone stole me when I was a baby but they saw me and knew it was me.”
“Yes. Always.” He nodded, smiling lightly. Thinking about the community was always bittersweet. In a way, he missed his life, missed his family and friends. But he also knew that Laurie was right, even if not completely. And he could have never have chosen to stay behind when she was leaving. “I wouldn’t say wonderful, but it was pretty nice when I was a kid.” Peter shrugged, shoving his hands in his pockets. “Oh, wow... That sounds...” It sounded made-up. It sounded like a story, a fairytale. But he wasn’t about to say that to the girl. “That sounds really nice. I mean... Not the part about someone stealing you, but the part about you finding your parents.” He quickly added. “So, how did you end up here? Did your parents send you?” Peter asked, eager to change the subject in case she decided to take offense on his last statement.
heathermariependleton:
She smiled. “That makes you lucky then. I was raised in an orphanage until I was eleven, but than I found my real parents. It’s not so bad, just lonely.”
“Wow... I couldn’t imagine having lived like that...” Peter admitted. “I was raised surrounded by the same people my entire life. Until... Well, I couldn’t let my girlfriend leave by herself.” He smiled. “How did you find your parents?”
heathermariependleton:
“This place looks so familiar… Orphanages and Hospitals look an awful lot alike, don’t they?”
“I... I wouldn’t know.” Peter said, smiling at her and shrugging lightly. He had been too lost in his own thoughts to actually look around and check who she was talking to before answering, and now it was too late to back down. “Have you been to many?”

“I... I’m not sure anymore...”

29: Do you believe in ghosts? How about aliens?
“Ghosts? Definitely. Aliens? I find the whole concept a little… Weird. Never really put much thought into it. But I don’t think I do.”
