I just want the Sangwoo that actually valued Yoonbum back... Because now Sangwoo feels ooc, he did almost a 360 and it feels so stupid 😤
Ikr nothing makes sense to me .. sangwoo was genuinely apologising to bum for grabbing his hand a little too hard a couple of chapters ago now he’s back to coldly beating him again??
I hope we get a reasonable explanation behind this or maybe sangwoo just doesn’t care about anything anymore and planning to kill himself soon but I hope he doesn’t expect bum to kill himself for him after this 😤
My guess is that Sangwoo has always had problems with his anger, and is quick to act violent. At the beginning of season 1, he had no reason to hold back his violent impulses. He didn’t care if he hurt Bum, if anything he probably enjoyed dominating another person. But at some point, he wanted Bum to like him, so he started to control is anger around him.
The last example I remember of Sangwoo acting violent towards Bum (after this shift) is the season 2 finale, in which violence was used to punish Bum, and as a way to re-establish that he is in control and that Bum ‘should know his place’. You can probably make the argument that a lot the rape scene that followed had to do with Sangwoo’s want/enjoyment of dominating another person (which is the case for most serial rapists).
But getting backing on point, post season 2, Sangwoo continues to want Bum to like him, but also he values Bum’s happiness, and goes out of his way to do things Bum will like. But post Chapter 62, Sangwoo is in this situation where he both hates Bum, but is too attached to him to let Bum leave (/kill him). He’s no longer interested in Bum liking him, so he has no reason to control is violent impulses. And given how Bum’s very presence probably causes a lot of conflicting emotions (anger, resentment, etc…), it’s no surprise that after a couple weeks, Bum is covered in bruises.
