“What about this?” Preston asked, pushing the curtain of the dressing room door open. Apparently shopping on his own was out of the question, considering how much of his wardrobe Petra had tossed into the trash before the movie, so he’d resorted to taking her with him. “I like the jeans, I’m not so sure about the shirt. I think it makes me look…” Glancing around toward the mirror, he visibly cringed at the sight of his muscled arms popping out of the sleeves. “Douchey. Seriously douchey. I might actually deserve that nickname Rat King if I buy this.” @petradeleon
Petra glanced up from her phone as Preston walked out of the dressing room, suppressing a snort at his appearance. Okay, so maybe the shirt hadn’t been the best choice, but it was still a vast improvement over what he had been wearing in her opinion, so it was at least a minor win in her book. “That’s what layering is for,” she chimed in, taking a moment to glance around the store before spotting a the perfect jacket on a rack towards the corner. With a grin, she gestured for him to hold on a moment and ran to grab it. She returned with it in one hand, holding it out for him with an excited grin. “Douchey is kind of in right now if you haven’t noticed, but this will at least tone it down a little. Just put it on. Trust me, you’ll see what I mean.”
See under the cut because this is going to be a loooooooong post.
01: Do you have a good relationship with your parents?
I’m probably closer with my father than I am with my mother, but I like to think I’ve got a good relationship with both of them either way. I could pretty much go to either of them with anything, so I’d take that as a yes.
02: Who did you last say “I love you” to?
Alright, this is going to sound so sad, but… my dog. God, I’m becoming that person, aren’t I?
03: Do you regret anything?
A few things, but I wouldn’t say I’ve done anything that I’d want to go back and fix that badly.
04: Are you insecure?
Not really. Sure, I’m not going to go on and brag about my looks, but I do know I’m generally pretty.
05: What is your relationship status?
Single as hell.
06: How do you want to die?
As long as I’m not drowning or burning to death, I’m good. Totally morbid to think about though, so let’s drop that topic.
07: What did you last eat?
Cold pizza. Was it bad for me? Probably. Would I do it again? Definitely.
08: Played any sports?
I used to play volleyball in high school, but I wouldn’t say I was a superstar at it at all.
09: Do you bite your nails?
Nope.
10: When was your last physical fight?
Other than shoving my sisters out of my room as a kid, I can’t say I’ve been in a physical fight.
11: Do you like someone?
Of course I do. What are you, blind?
Maybe.
12: Have you ever stayed up 48 hours?
Once, and it was awful. Fashion Week really is exhausting.
13: Do you hate anyone at the moment?
Hate’s a strong word. Not really.
14: Do you miss someone?
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little homesick for my family at the moment. LA is great, but it’s definitely not home.
15: Have any pets?
I’ve got a dog - a schnauzer, to be exact - named Teddy. He’s pretty young and way too energetic, but he’s a cutie for sure.
16: How exactly are you feeling at the moment?
Tired would probably be a good adjective. I just got back from a shoot and the photographer was pretty much a hyper-perfectionist. I was there for a solid six hours, and let me tell you, it was brutal.
17: Ever made out in the bathroom?
Never. I don’t even want to think about how unsanitary that is.
18: Are you scared of spiders?
Not really. Snakes, though? I’m pretty sure they’re demons in disguise.
19: Would you go back in time if you were given the chance?
Nope. Not for the world.
20: Where was the last place you snogged someone?
Oh, jeez. So it was definitely at some party with a guy I was kind of seeing back in November. Didn’t end up working out, but I do have to say he was a decent kisser.
21: What are your plans for this weekend?
I’ve got a shoot for some magazine on Saturday, but then I’ll probably go out that evening with some friends. Sunday will be a lazy day for sure, though.
22: Do you want to have kids? How many?
Maybe. If I do have kids, I definitely want more than one. Three would probably be ideal, though then you run into the risk of one kid being the middle child and feeling left out.
23: Do you have piercings? How many?
Yeah, a few. They’re all in my ears, though. A few in the lobes, one in the upper cartilage, and that’s about it.
24: What is/are/were your best subject(s)?
English. It may not look like it, but I’m kind of a reading junkie. Classic literature wasn’t exactly my favorite, but it was a lot better than any other class I took.
25: Do you miss anyone from your past?
My friends back in New York, sure. But seeing that they’re just a flight away, it’s not too bad.
26: What are you craving right now?
“Ice cream. Mint chocolate specifically, so if anyone wants to hop onboard for that, it’d be much appreciated.”
27: Have you ever broken someone’s heart?
I hope not. Maybe, though.
28: Have you ever been cheated on?
Yeah, but it was definitely while I was in high school. Looking back on it, it’s actually kind of ridiculous but at the time I was freaking devastated.
29: Have you made a boyfriend/girlfriend cry?
Luckily no. I’m not entirely sure I could handle that if it actually happened, to be honest, so I’m kind of glad I’ve not experienced it.
30: What’s irritating you right now?
Right now? For some reason my air system in my apartment can’t keep a normal temperature, so it’s either freezing or burning up in my apartment. Right now I’m bundled up because I’m pretty sure I’m about to turn into a giant icicle at any moment.
31: Does somebody love you?
Of course. Maybe not in the romantic sense, but I’ve got plenty of love in my life as it is.
32: What is your favourite color?
Purple. My second favorite after that is probably blue.
33: Do you have trust issues?
I like to think I don’t, but who knows? Maybe I do and haven’t even realized it yet.
34: Who/what was your last dream about?
See, I just have weird dreams in general. Though last night I really just dreamt about sheep so I guess it wasn’t that weird in retrospect.
35: Who was the last person you cried in front of?
I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t cry in front of people that often so it’s probably been years since that’s happened.
36: Do you give out second chances too easily?
I think I’m pretty fair with second chances. It really depends on what the person did to lose their first chance, but if it’s not too bad, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Third chances, though? No way.
37: Is it easier to forgive or forget?
Forgiveness is definitely easier.
38: Is this year the best year of your life?
Too early to tell. Check back with me in, like, October and I’ll let you know for sure.
39: How old were you when you had your first kiss?
Other than an awkward first grade kiss under the jungle gym? I think I was probably fourteen. I went on a date to the movies with some boy that was in my science class and we kissed in the theatre. His mom was there, too; she drove us there. Totally awkward and would definitely not recommend it.
40: Have you ever walked outside completely naked?
Close to it, but not completely. Granted, it was for a photoshoot and not just because, but still.
51: Favourite food?
I pretty much love any type of pasta. Italian food? The best.
52: Do you believe everything happens for a reason?
I like to think that most things have a point, but there are some things that are just senseless. Fate totally exists, though, and it can be hell sometimes.
53: What is the last thing you did before you went to bed last night?
I’m pretty sure I fell asleep watching Black Mirror last night. Can I just say how creepy that show is? Addictive, sure, but so odd.
54: Is cheating ever okay?
Not at all.
55: Are you mean?
Honest, maybe, but not mean. I actually like to think I’m a pretty kind person for the most part.
56: How many people have you fist fought?
I’ve been lucky enough not to get into it with someone yet. Who knows, though? It could happen someday.
57: Do you believe in true love?
I’m not that bitter to think that true love doesn’t exist yet. I think it’s super hard to find, but I’m sure it’s there somewhere.
58: Favourite weather?
Those days right where winter’s turning into spring and everything’s just coming alive again. Not too cold, but not too warm. Definitely sunny.
59: Do you like the snow?
I like the way snow looks, but not so much to play in. I got enough of that back in New York, so I’ve got my fill.
60: Do you wanna get married?
Someday, maybe. Not in the near future unless I end up really falling for someone.
61: Is it cute when a boy/girl calls you baby?
Uh, yeah. Call me baby and I’ll love you forever, for real.
62: What makes you happy?
So many things. It’s mostly simple things, too: Hot showers, coffee,
63: Would you change your name?
Funny story: I used to really want to change my name to Belle as a kid because that was my favorite Disney princess and all so that automatically had to be my name. Weird kid logic. But now? No way. I love my name.
64: Would it be hard to kiss the last person you kissed?
Seeing that we broke up, like, three months ago? Probably.
65: Your best friend of the opposite sex likes you, what do you do?
Yikes. Depends on which best friend we’re talking about here.
66: Do you have a friend of the opposite sex who you can act your complete self around?
Yeah, of course! I think I generally am an authentic person, but I definitely do have a few male friends that see me as I am.
67: Who was the last person of the opposite sex you talked to?
I’m about 85% sure it was Eric. Though honestly, it could’ve also been my manager because I’m pretty sure he called me last night while I was maybe a little bit tipsy. I hope that I didn’t embarrass myself if that was the case.
68: Who’s the last person you had a deep conversation with?
It’s been a while. Probably my mom, though I feel like we always get into deep conversations when I call.
69: Do you believe in soulmates?
I think I do. I’m not 100% sure, but I do think that there are people out there that are just meant to be together or just fit together better than anyone else.
70: Is there anyone you would die for?
My family for sure, and I’m sure I’d die for some of my closest friends. Honestly though, nobody can be 100% sure until they’re placed in that scenario.
Alright, this is going to sound so sad, but… my dog. God, I’m becoming that person, aren’t I?
18: Are you scared of spiders?
Not really. Snakes, though? I’m pretty sure they’re demons in disguise.
21: What are your plans for this weekend?
I’ve got a shoot for some magazine on Saturday, but then I’ll probably go out that evening with some friends. Sunday will be a lazy day for sure, though.
He didn’t want to move. He wanted to stay here in her arms forever. But he knew that now, more than ever, his family would need him. But still he couldn’t bring himself to leave. Eros looked over at his wife. He was never one to deny her beauty. But it was more than that, it was her kindness, her compassion, that had drawn him in originally. His eyes traced over her features. The soft curve of her nose, the delicate line of her lips. He wanted to commit each line to his memory. Worried that what laid ahead for them may mean he won’t get to spend moments like these with her. She spoke, his name sounded like a song from her lips. He wanted to listen to it for the rest of his life. He let out a low chuckle and gently caressed her cheek, brushing a stray strand of hair away. “Would that really be so bad?” He asked, half seriously. If they stayed in bed forever, would anything actually be able to hurt them?
Psyche couldn’t help but smile fondly as he glanced over at her. Eros was undoubtedly the love of her life, the one who held her heart in the palm of their hands. She wanted to get up no less than he did, and at his response, she could feel her resolve weaken as she leaned instinctively into his touch as she felt his fingers brush against her cheek. “Probably not.” She mused, reaching up cup his face in return, the pad of her thumb grazing gently over his cheekbone. “I can’t seem to think of anything more important at the moment.” And yet there was, and both of them were fully aware of it. Dread had been filling her stomach, tying it in knots over thoughts of whether this threat, whatever it was, could possibly hurt her husband or daughter. The risk was real and likely dangerous, but for the moment, the only thing Psyche could think of was to focus on the positive and wish for the best. “You don’t think there’s any real threat to all of this, do you? Even if there was, surely it can be handled quickly and all can go back to normal.”
“Hmm, but it’s not like we’re just anyone.” Aurora shrugged, maybe she was overconfident, but she hardly thought humility would help them stay relevant. “People just want to be entertained, and as long as we give them what we want, there’s no reason they should get tired of us.” She mused, she was sure she had a lengthy career ahead of her. She ordered her usual drink, a vodka martini, and tapped her perfectly manicured nails on the bar while she waited. Her eyes drifted to Petra, looking her over more critically than she’d intended. “So, if they do get tired of you… what do you plan to do then?”
“Well no, but who’s to say that they weren’t somebodies, too?” It was a topic she’d thought about a lot seeing stars come and go in her father’s line of work, but there was always the eventual reality for most that fame wasn’t forever. “I guess so. I know all about entertainment value - my dad does that for a living. It’s all a game with who can grab the most attention.” Sensing Aurora’s glance at her, Petra turned her head to meet her gaze, shrugging at her question. “No plans right now. I guess I could always break into talent management if it comes to it, but nothing definite. What about you?”
“I know I look good, but you’re just being too nice. You look amazing. Even if you weren’t a model I think everyone here would be taking pictures of you.” Even as the pair of them spoke to each other the photographers snapped their pictures and shouted requests towards them. It was flattering, even though Hazel knew most of the desire was because of Petra standing beside her. She felt no jealously toward the other woman though, like she might toward anyone else. With Petra she was honestly happy to see her succeed in any capacity. “I’m glad we ran into each other tonight!”
“You’re too sweet, Hazel. Really. I appreciate the compliment.” As a model, Petra knew that she was pretty. It wasn’t a secret. Magazines and figures in the industry regularly praised her looks, and even without the constant affirmation, she was sure of it. Still, that didn’t mean she felt the need to brag about it constantly as she found it usually paid in dividends to stay humble. She posed like a pro, artfully ignoring the questions as she’d done her whole life because it was truthfully much easier to stay private than to bare her whole life to the media. Instead, she wrapped an arm around the blonde, giving her a tight squeeze. “I am too! I’ve been meaning to stop by and see you at the spa recently, but life’s just been so crazy. Do you want to get out of here so we can chat without dozens of people surrounding us? I’ve been dying for a drink.”

Psyche’s favorite moments were always the simple ones. There was surely room for passion and fervor in her life - and in truth, there were too many times to count where that had been the case - but she’d always been most fond of sweetness, of soft kisses and whispers and gentle touches. This was no exception as she laid in bed, curled up next to her husband as the sun crested the horizon. It was her happy place, her home, and it was understandable that her mind would wander as it had seemingly done in recent times to topics that she hadn’t dared say out loud. Well, that was until now, as she’d seemingly plucked up some nerve to finally admit it. A low, contented sigh escaped her as she shifted, turning on her side as she leaned in to leave a lazy kiss on his shoulder. “Eros, darling.” Voice still heavy from sleep, she barely spoke above a murmur as she tried to get her husband’s attention, “I fear we may sleep the entire day away if we stay in bed much longer, love.” @ericdupoint
Hazel had a feeling Petra wouldn’t hesitate to join her, so she was glad to see she was right. She felt a connection with Petra that was hard to explain, and she loved getting the chance to spend time with her. “Yay!” she said with a happy laugh. Posing with the other woman, Hazel’s smile was bright. She did a few pouts and other facial expressions for the cameras before grinning over at her friend. “You look amazing tonight!”
Petra had a hard time understanding exactly the feeling she got around Hazel. It was an almost protective instinct in her, though seeing the joy on her face was enough to fill her heart with something she couldn’t quite place. Was it pride? The only thing she could think of was that it was just some weird friendship thing, an omen that they were meant to be close, and she’d mostly left it at that. “Me? Oh my god, look at you!” She laughed aloud at the girl’s excitement, clapping her hands together as she continued, “You really have to tell me where you got that dress because it’s freaking gorgeous.”
“Pure dedication and a love for detail not many really have, i think. The soundtracks, the scenery – there’s so much to work on in a movie and of course they provide so many opportunities and jobs.” she said before stuffing her face with yet another appetizer. They were all delicious and definitely made her want more. “I’m Hayley, by the way,” she grinned. “They do, oh my god. I’m so glad there are premieres which aren’t just focused on the movie, but also to highlight a completely different world through food, drinks and these little bags you get after the red carpet filled with goodies. If the movie sucks we still have those!”
“Well, I suppose that’s why they say that not everyone has what it takes to make it in this industry, huh? It really takes a special person to make magic.” While she had little to no desire to get anywhere near film or tv, Petra had to appreciate the effort that went into the production of them. “I’m Petra. Nice to make your acquaintance.” She’d been watching the girl eat with keen interest; being so busy answering questions and taking pictures had admittedly been more of a feat than Petra originally planned, and she hadn’t quite realized how hungry she actually was until her eyes were set on the appetizers. “Oh my god, is the food any good? I’m looking forward to seeing the movie and all, but the food’s practically half the reason I go to these things, anyways. And the gift bags are always stellar, so I completely see your point.”

Aurora led the way to the bar, just in case anyone saw where they were going. In this industry, you couldn’t get a rep for breaking your word. She laughed with Petra and shrugged. “Of course it will, my agent keeps saying to enjoy it while it lasts. Soon enough we’ll be replaced by someone younger, although I can’t imagine they’ll be prettier.” She joked. Honestly, she wasn’t all that keen on keeping this up either, something about Petra always got her defenses up, like she could never be comfortable around her. But she also wasn’t about to turn down a bunch of free publicity, and even she had to admit, they looked good together. “I don’t know about you, but I’ve never had anyone get tired of me, and I don’t see it happening any time soon.” She bragged confidently.
It wouldn’t have been the first time Petra had kept up a facade for the sake of publicity and it probably wouldn’t be the last. After all, fame was a fickle mistress in so many ways, and she understood that if she wanted to keep her job, she simply had to stay relevant. If that meant being somewhat deceitful to the public, benign as it was, she would be more than happy to oblige. “You never know. I’m sure that those before us probably said the same thing, and look at them now.” She shrugged, a half-smile quirking at the corners of her lips as she waved for a drink from the bartender. Was she intending to get trashed? Not at all. Just enough to take the edge off was all she needed, and a vodka cranberry was singing her name. Resisting the urge to roll her eyes at Aurora’s boasting, she rested her chin in the palm of her hand instead as she continued. “I can’t say that’s been the case for me either, but you never know. I’ve seen plenty of people fall out of favor in the media, so it can really happen to anyone, you know?”
Eric felt a shiver travel down his spine as Petra played into the game straight off the bat. He had always liked a woman who could keep up with his shenanigans. Of course her closeness probably had something to do with it as well. He let a small smile grace the corner of his lips as she whispered into his ear. His hand reached up to gently cup her face. For a second he forgot about the cameras. As he looked at her, the same feeling he had felt since he had first looked into her eyes, the feeling of home, erased everything else. He knew that tomorrow there would be a million and one stories about this red carpet pose, something that made him smile. “Of course.” He winked at her before turning back to the cameras. “Thanks guys, we have somewhere to be.” He smirked as he led her away from the lights and towards the bar. As soon as he was far enough away, he loosened his collar. “Man, no one tells you how hot velvet can get. I swear I felt like I was cooking.”
Petra had to resist the urge to laugh at the murmurs that echoed among the photographers as the two of them posed together, knowing full and well that this was going to end up becoming a gigantic story once it hit the press. Still, her amusement was soon forgotten as soon as his hand brushed against her face, and almost instinctually, she leaned into his touch. It was hard to describe exactly how being around him made her feel, the strange air of familiarity and comfort she sensed as soon as she so much as looked at him almost foreign but welcome all the same. She followed him eagerly towards the bar, glad to get away from the nosy reporters shouting questions at them even if it was good exposure. “I could’ve told you that! Velvet’s beautiful and all, but it packs some serious insulation power under studio lighting.” Petra paused momentarily, taking a moment to look at him from head to toe, and her reaction could only be described as playful as she reached out once more to brush a hand against the shoulder of his jacket as she continued to speak. "I do have to admit you look very handsome, though. I’ve always liked a guy that knows how to dress well.”
