[Caption: gifs from The Vampire Diaries. Elijah has chased Elena to her family’s cabin, telling her she has nothing left to negotiate another deal with him. Elena hardens her expression and pulls out a knife; she tells Elijah that he won’t be able to lure Klaus in if she bleeds to death. When Elijah says Stefan (who’s listening in) won’t let her die, Elena agrees and threatens to kill herself once Stefan gives her blood to heal her, becoming a vampire like Katherine did unless Elijah reinstates their deal to not harm Elena’s loved ones, even if they harm him. Elijah, sceptical, decides to call her bluff, and Elena stabs herself in the gut without hesitation. Elijah tries to rush in, screaming, despite knowing he can’t come in, and watches impotent while Elena writhes in pain and lets the knife fall to the floor. After a few moments Elijah gives in and agrees to let her have her deal, asking Elena to let him heal her; she insists that he give her his word, and he complies. Elena stumbles out of the doorway and into his arms, with Elijah cradling her head. But instead of letting him heal her, she takes the advantage to stake him with the dagger, making Elijah gasp. He desiccates, while Elena, still wounded and barely standing, watches it.]
