It's crazy to still be arguing about Persona 5 almost 8 years later, but I do think that a lot of what I see is so far removed from the actual text of the game that we've hit the point of enjoying a made up version of Persona 5 that exists in people's heads exclusively, which like. That's fine. It's probably better than the real Persona 5. But also we should acknowledge that the absolute dregs who used to argue about waifu wars and make the same lame jokes endlessly engaged with the text of the game more honestly than anyone still making Shuake Headcanons in 2025

You do have to understand, within the text of Persona 5 an adult woman dating a teen boy is fine but not an adult man dating a teen girl. And that's a classic scumbag opinion, but it's also just taken as fact within Persona 5 because the creators of the game found it titillating and not much thought was put into it beyond that and so I do think engaging with Persona 5 on that level is like.
