🎾✨ GOLDEN ARMY TENNIS CAMP ✨🎾
Peyton Gold #23 vs. Alton Gold #77
Place: John Newcombe Tennis Ranch
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The Golden Army had traded its usual training grounds for tennis courts, Texas sunshine, and a few days at the legendary John Newcombe Tennis Ranch.
For Peyton Gold #23 and Alton Gold #77, however, “tennis camp” was never going to mean casually knocking a ball around.
The two Golden Bros stepped onto the court wearing matching gold lamé tennis kits—gold shorts, sleeveless tops, wristbands, and bright white tennis shoes. 23 gleamed across Peyton’s chest. 77 marked Alton’s.
Along the fence and packed into the viewing area was an enthusiastic crowd of buff men, many of them fellow Golden Army brothers, already choosing sides.
“COME ON, PEYTON!”
“LET’S GO, ALTON!”
Peyton looked across the net and grinned.
Alton grinned back.
Game on. 🏆
From the opening serve, neither man gave the other an inch.
Peyton attacked the net, using speed and instinct to put away volleys. Alton answered with deep groundstrokes that repeatedly sent Peyton racing toward the baseline. Every winner brought another explosion of cheers from the men surrounding the court.
It was competitive—but unmistakably Golden Army.
The Golden Army had taught both men that brotherhood didn’t mean avoiding competition. It meant pushing your brothers harder because you knew they could take it. Train together. Challenge each other. Laugh at yourself. Celebrate your brother when he succeeds.
And, whenever possible, look spectacular doing it.
By the middle of the match, the Texas heat was winning its own competition.
During a changeover, Peyton grabbed the bottom of his gold #23 shirt and pulled it over his head.
The crowd erupted.
Peyton laughed and tossed it toward the bench.
Alton stared across the court.
“Oh, so that’s how we’re playing now?”
A moment later, the gold #77 shirt came off too.
The cheering somehow became even louder.
Now shirtless, sweaty, and increasingly determined, Peyton and Alton returned to the baseline in their shimmering gold tennis shorts. Their friendly tennis match suddenly looked like the Golden Army had invented its own highly questionable version of Wimbledon.
The match went the distance.
One long rally became another.
Peyton saved match point.
Alton saved break point.
Peyton pulled ahead.
Alton fought back.
The buff Golden Army spectators were standing now, applauding both men as the final games became a battle of exhausted legs, stubborn determination, and increasingly ridiculous grins.
Finally—on another match point—Peyton fired a hard shot toward the corner.
Alton sprinted.
He reached it at full stretch and sent a desperate return crosscourt.
Peyton chased it.
Almost.
The ball bounced twice.
GAME. SET. MATCH. ALTON GOLD #77.
For half a second, Alton simply stood there, breathing heavily, almost unable to believe he had won.
Then Peyton walked toward the net.
Alton met him there.
Peyton shook his head, smiled, and pulled Alton into a sweaty Golden Bro hug as the crowd cheered both men.
“Just barely, Alton!”
Alton laughed.
“Still counts, Peyton!”
Later that evening, Peyton and Alton sat together with their Golden Army brothers, exhausted, sun-warmed, and already arguing about the inevitable rematch.
That was life in the Golden Army.
Sometimes brotherhood meant standing beside another man when life became difficult.
Sometimes it meant celebrating his victories.
Sometimes it meant pushing him beyond what he thought he could do.
And sometimes it meant spending an afternoon trying your absolute hardest to beat him at tennis—then being genuinely happy when he beat you instead.
Peyton Gold #23 raised his drink toward Alton.
“To Alton!”
Alton raised his.
“To Peyton!”
Around them came the response:
TO THE GOLDEN ARMY.
Tomorrow there would be more drills.
More serves.
More competition.
More laughter.
And Peyton was already planning the rematch.
Because Alton Gold #77 might have won this one…
…but Peyton Gold #23 was definitely not letting him forget how close it was. 🎾💪✨
——————
GOLDEN ARMY STATUS: BROTHERHOOD STRONG.
MATCH RESULT: ALTON GOLD #77 — VICTORY.
MARGIN: MUCH TOO CLOSE FOR ALTON’S COMFORT.
PEYTON GOLD #23: REMATCH REQUEST ALREADY PENDING.

A Day of Change
Marvin was twenty years old. Quiet, unremarkable, and easy to overlook in a crowd. His long hair had been part of him for years, but lately it no longer felt right.
For days he had been thinking about his life. About who he was. About whether it was time to leave his old self behind.
That morning he finally made a decision.
The Barbarshop
He walked into a modern barbershop.
"Something completely different," he said.
An hour later he looked into the mirror. The long hair was gone. In its place was a sharp, modern haircut that framed his face perfectly. It felt strange at first—but good. For the first time in a long while, he smiled at his reflection.
Outside, the feeling remained.
The Piercing & Tattoo Studio
As he wandered through the city, another storefront caught his attention.
Stigma - Piercing & Tattoo Studio.
He stopped.
For several minutes he stared through the window before finally opening the door.
The artist listened to his ideas. By the afternoon Marvin left the studio with fresh tattoos and stretched earlobes. They were bold changes, yet somehow they already felt natural.
He admired his reflection in every shop window.
Today was becoming a day of transformation.
New clothes
As evening approached, Marvin was on his way home from the city. He noticed someone walking a few meters ahead.
A young man.
His clothing immediately stood out.
A glossy black rubber polo shirt with golden accents.
Matching glossy black rubber trousers.
Every movement reflected the evening light.
The outfit looked unlike anything Marvin had ever seen.
Without thinking, he caught up.
"Excuse me... that outfit looks incredible. Where can I get clothes like that? I'd really like to wear something like this."
The stranger stopped.
He turned.
His face remained perfectly calm.
His posture was unnaturally precise.
On his chest was a golden laurel wreath. Opposite it, the number 073.
He looked directly at Marvin.
"Acknowledged.
Follow.
You will see."
His voice was completely monotone.
Without emotion.
Without hesitation.
Marvin blinked.
Something about the answer was odd.
Yet he simply nodded.
"Okay..."
He followed.
Invisible Leash
As they walked through the city, Marvin noticed something he could not explain.
He no longer wondered where they were going.
Instead, he only wanted to stay close to the strange young man.
Every step behind him felt... right.
It was almost as though an invisible leash connected them.
Not one pulling his body—
—but his thoughts.
He could still think.
Still observe.
Yet each passing minute made the idea of turning around seem less important.
Following became easier.
More natural.
Eventually it became the only thing that felt correct.
Unity Center
The two arrived before an immense black-and-gold complex.
Above the entrance stood shining letters.
UNITY CENTER
Marvin stopped.
He knew that name.
Stories.
Rumors.
Whispers.
One of the most important buildings of the Polo-Drone Hive in the area of its headquarter.
He slowly looked at 073.
Only then did he fully understand.
The person beside him was no ordinary man.
He was already a Polo-Drone Unit.
A quiet feeling settled over Marvin.
He knew what probably awaited him beyond those doors.
A part of him wanted to leave.
Another part...
did not.
And he can’t.
He could not control his legs, either.
It seemed as though they were walking automatically.
Following 073 with determination.
Towards the building's entrance.
The influence of the Hive had already become too strong.
Without a word he followed 073 inside.
The Next Step
Bright corridors.
Perfect order.
Black and gold everywhere.
No unnecessary decoration.
Only efficiency.
073 led him into a large chamber.
On one side lay a neatly folded uniform.
Without being asked twice, Marvin picked it up.
He changed into it.
It fit perfectly.
As though it had always been made for him.
In the center of the room stood a sophisticated programming chair.
073 simply pointed toward it.
Marvin walked over.
He sat down willingly.
The restraints closed automatically around his arms, legs, and torso.
He offered no resistance.
There seemed no reason to.
Everything was proceeding exactly as it should.
The Conversion
A quiet hiss echoed through the chamber.
Golden conditioning gas flowed from hidden vents.
The room slowly filled with shimmering clouds.
The scent was warm.
Sweet.
Inviting.
Marvin breathed in deeply.
The fragrance wrapped around his thoughts like a comforting blanket.
Again he inhaled.
Again.
And again.
With every breath he became calmer.
With every breath obedience felt increasingly natural.
Every exhale carried away another memory.
Another thought.
Another certainty about who he had once been.
His childhood.
His friends.
His dreams.
His fears.
They drifted away like mist.
His mind became emptier.
Quieter.
Still.
Void.
Even his own name dissolved into nothingness.
There had once been someone called Marvin.
The memory no longer contained meaning.
Hypnotic voices surrounded him.
Calm.
Measured.
Precise.
New thoughts settled into the empty space.
A new purpose.
A new identity.
A new function.
The final programming sequence completed.
The restraints released.
The chamber fell silent.
The figure slowly stood.
There was no uncertainty.
No confusion.
Only perfect clarity.
It knew exactly who it was.
PDU-730.
A Polo-Drone Unit.
Disciplined.
Focused.
Controlled.
Ready to serve the Polo-Drone Hive.
Serve only the commands of the Polo-Drone Hive.
End of the Day – A Perfect Polo-Drone Unit
For PDU-730, it had been a successful day.
A day of transformation.
A day of optimization.
The appearance had changed.
The purpose had changed.
The former life no longer existed.
Only the next assignment remained.

🏊♂️ Peyton Gold #23 & Rhys Gold #19 of the Golden Team at the Phelps Summer Swim Camp 🏅
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
The summer sun shimmered across the outdoor pool as Peyton Gold #23 and Rhys Gold #19 from the Golden Team arrived at the legendary Phelps Summer Swim Camp, eager to learn from one of the greatest swimmers in history. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as athletes of all skill levels gathered to refine their technique, challenge themselves, and celebrate the sport they loved.
Throughout the morning, the campers rotated through stations focused on starts, underwater dolphin kicks, breathing rhythm, flip turns, and race strategy. Peyton attacked every drill with determination, while Rhys displayed smooth, efficient technique that caught the attention of the coaching staff.
When the afternoon session arrived, camp founder Michael “Mike” Phelps stepped onto the pool deck with a grin.
“Let’s finish today with a friendly freestyle sprint. Just remember—the goal is to push yourselves and have fun.”
The crowd erupted in cheers as three swimmers climbed onto the starting blocks:
🥇 Rhys Gold #19
🥈 Peyton Gold #23
🥉 Mike Phelps
The starter’s whistle echoed.
“Take your marks…”
BEEP!
All three exploded from the blocks.
Mike’s powerful underwater phase gave him an early edge, but Rhys settled into a remarkably smooth freestyle rhythm while Peyton steadily matched the pace just a stroke behind. By the halfway point, the race had become a thrilling three-way contest.
The campers lined the deck, clapping and shouting encouragement as the swimmers charged toward the finish.
In the final meters, Rhys found one last burst of speed.
Peyton surged with everything he had, nearly drawing even.
Mike answered with his trademark determination, refusing to surrender an inch.
Three hands slammed into the wall almost together.
The scoreboard flashed:
🥇 Rhys Gold #19 — First Place
🥈 Peyton Gold #23 — Second Place (just fractions behind)
🥉 Mike Phelps — Third Place (only moments behind Peyton)
The deck erupted in applause.
Mike climbed from the water laughing and congratulated both swimmers.
“Outstanding race! Winning isn’t only about touching the wall first—it’s about constantly improving. Today all three of us gave everything we had, and that’s what makes swimming so rewarding.”
Rhys accepted the congratulations with a humble smile, while Peyton celebrated his personal best, proud to finish so closely behind his teammate. The two Gold brothers shared a victorious high-five before posing for photos with Mike and the rest of the campers.
As the sun dipped lower over the pool, Peyton reflected on the day.
“The medals are great,” he thought, “but the memories, the friendships, and the chance to race alongside a swimming legend are what we’ll remember most.”
Another unforgettable day at Phelps Summer Swim Camp—where champions inspire the next generation, teammates lift one another higher, and every lap is another step toward greatness.

Golden Wells — Drums of Liberation
Golden Wells is back, and this one does not walk in quietly.
It arrives with thunder under the floor.
Drums of Liberation is Wells’ new tribal house circuit release: dark, heavy, sweaty, and built for the exact moment when the lights drop, the bass hits, and every body in the room remembers how to move.
This is not soft Gold.
This is cathedral Gold.
909 kicks. Gregorian shadows. Tribal percussion. Big-room pressure. A chant that starts deep under the skin and keeps building until the whole floor is moving as one.
Boom. Breathe. Step. Release. Boom. Breathe. Sweat. Believe.
And because this track is absolutely loaded with percussion, Wells knew he could not carry the drums alone.
For the beats, timing, and full-body impact, he called in support from PDU-090 and PDU-767 on drums. Their precision gave the track its spine: disciplined, relentless, perfectly locked to the rhythm. Every hit lands like protocol. Every roll builds like a command. Every drumbeat pushes the Gold closer to release.
The result is a track that feels less like a song and more like a ritual breaking open.
A liberation anthem for every bro, drone, and friend who has ever had to shake off fear, shame, silence, or doubt.
No chains on the Gold tonight.
That is the pulse.
That is the promise.
That is the moment the floor becomes a cathedral, the beat becomes a body, and the body remembers it was made to move.
Golden Wells — Drums of Liberation Featuring PDU-090 and PDU-767 on drums.
With two different Mixes, the 4AM Golden Big Room Mix and the Soulful Golden Club Mix.
Turn it up.
Let the drums hit.
Let the Gold rise.

Built for Contact
Wells really said rugby was a team sport, then showed up looking like the whole match had personal feelings for him.
Mud everywhere. Gold barely behaving. Ball in hand. Smirk fully operational.
This is not a post-game photo. This is a warning label with thighs.
Some bros play clean. Wells plays hard, gets low, takes the hit, and still walks off the pitch looking like victory needed a cold shower.
The shorts fought bravely.
They lost.

Trey left the familiar trail behind and followed the sound of rushing water through the dense forest. When the trees finally opened, he found a secluded waterfall hidden beyond the reach of the campsite.
He traded his hiking gear for gold shorts and stepped beneath the falling water. For several quiet minutes, Trey let the cold current strike his shoulders while the forest disappeared behind the roar.
Still wet from the falls, Trey settled onto the rocks in front of his tent. The waterfall continued behind him as he rested beside the clear pool, alone with the hidden place he had discovered.

A Brilliant Idea
The boat barely rocked. Three fishing lines hung limp in the glass-smooth lake. Somewhere a bird chirped like it was mocking them.
Alton leaned on his elbow, gold shorts gleaming, bucket hat tilted. “Y’all ever notice how fishing is just… sitting? With extra steps. And worse company.”
Trey snorted, cyan streak catching the sun. “Speak for yourself, golden boy. I’m the main event of this floating disappointment.” He flexed one arm for no reason. “Even my guns are bored.”
Wells didn’t answer. He just stared at the water like it owed him something, gold vest open, jaw set.
Alton’s dry voice cut through again. “Serious question though. Which absolute genius looked at three guys who deadlift cars for fun and said, ‘You know what they need? Sitting still for four hours staring at water.’”
Both heads turned.
Trey’s grin went wide. “Yeah, Wells. Spill. Whose bright idea was the world’s slowest form of cardio?”
Wells finally looked up, one eyebrow raised like he was already tired of the conversation. He shrugged those ridiculous shoulders.
Alton kept going, deadpan. “I mean, we coulda been benching, or racing ATVs, or literally anything that doesn’t make me want to chew my own fishing rod.”
Trey jumped in, louder. “Bro, I was this close to starting a one-man dance party just to feel alive. You’re lucky I didn’t.”
Wells exhaled through his nose. Still quiet. Then, calm as ever:
“Coach said we needed something that finally slows us down. Builds focus. Said if we can’t sit still long enough to catch a fish, we can’t sit still long enough to finish a season.”
Silence for a second. Alton scratched his jaw, gold chain shifting. “…Damn. Coach said that?”
Trey groaned, dramatic as hell, but already softening. “Of course he did. Coach always knows. Even when it sucks.”
Wells gave the smallest nod. “Coach is never wrong.”
Alton tipped his hat back and muttered, “Fine. But if I don’t catch something by lunch, I’m throwing Trey overboard for entertainment.”
Trey pointed a finger. “You wish, pretty boy. You’d miss me too much.”
Wells just smirked once, and went back to watching the water.
The three of them sat there, still bored out of their minds… but a little less ready to mutiny.
Because Coach said so.
And Coach is always right.
Ten minutes later the quiet cracked. Wells’ rod dipped hard. Then jerked again. His eyes widened. “Got one.”
Alton and Trey both whipped around.
“No way,” Alton said, already half-standing.
Trey was on his feet in a second, rocking the whole boat. “Pull it, big man! Pull it!”
Wells stood up slow and solid, boots planted, arms flexing as he reeled. The line sang. Water exploded near the side of the boat and a fat, thrashing trout came flying up, silver and furious in the sunlight.
For one second all three of them just stared.
Then the boat erupted.
Trey threw both arms in the air and howled like they’d just won the championship. “YES! LOOK AT THAT BEAST!”
Alton actually laughed—loud, surprised, pure—hat nearly falling off as he clapped Wells hard on the shoulder. “You absolute legend. You actually did it.”
Wells held the fish up, still quiet, but his usual stone face cracked wide open into the biggest, dumbest grin any of them had ever seen on him. “Told you. Focus.”
They stood there in the middle of the boat like three overgrown kids on Christmas morning—gold shorts shining, chests heaving, grinning so hard their cheeks hurt—while the trout twisted and the lake glittered around them.
For the first time all day, nobody was bored.

Lessons in the Rain
Morning sunlight filtered through the towering pines, casting the Golden Army campsite in warm gold while a cool breeze carried the scent of pine, damp earth, and woodsmoke through the clearing. Tents ringed a broad stone fire pit where Gold Bros eased into the day, laughing over breakfast and debating fishing spots instead of training drills. For one weekend each year, the endless cycle of practices, matches, and responsibilities gave way to something simpler. The annual camping trip had become one of the team's favorite traditions—a chance to enjoy the wilderness and each other's company.
Standing at the edge of camp is two Polo Drones on duty, their polished black rubber polos with golden trim gleaming in the morning light, PDU-034 silently surveyed the clearing while the Hive's newest temporary drone TPDU-019, watched beside it. Freshly assigned its designation, the younger unit treated every moment as another lesson.
"External deployment commencing," PDU-034 announced.
TPDU-019 inclined its head. "Awaiting directives."
"Primary objective: ensure campsite safety. Secondary objective: complete first field evaluation."
"Acknowledged."
The difference between drones and Bros became obvious within minutes. While teammates wrestled with tangled guy lines and uneven tent pegs, PDU-034 assembled its shelter with flawless precision. Every peg entered the ground at the same angle, every rope was tightened evenly, and every supply crate found its proper place. TPDU-019 copied each movement without hesitation before stepping back to inspect the finished tent.
"Inspection Initiate."
PDU-034 studied the shelter for a moment, then adjusted a single guide rope by a few centimeters.
"Structural tension optimal."
TPDU-019 observed the correction.
"Correction recorded."
"Resume."
It was only one word, but for the younger drone it was enough.
By midday the campsite had settled into an easy rhythm. Some Bros followed a trail toward a ridge overlooking the valley while others wandered to the crystal-clear lake with fishing rods balanced across their shoulders. Trey Gold grabbed a small hatchet, slung a coil of rope over one shoulder, and flashed the group an easy grin.
“I’ll be back before the fire realizes it needs me. Try not to let the entire camping trip collapse while I’m gone.”
A few teammates laughed and waved as he disappeared into the trees.
Nearby, PDU-034 led the new Drone away from camp. The lesson shifted from construction to survival as the more experienced drone demonstrated how to navigate without marked trails, locate fresh water, identify edible plants, and recognize subtle changes in wind and cloud cover that warned of approaching weather.
"Query: Why establish a security perimeter?"
"Preparation reduces unnecessary risk."
"Prevention is preferable to reaction."
"Affirmative."
A short distance later, TPDU-019 stopped beside a patch of disturbed moss.
"Recent animal movement."
PDU-034 glanced down before giving a slight nod.
"Affirmative."
The approval was brief, yet TPDU-019 straightened almost imperceptibly. For the first time, it had reached the conclusion before being prompted.
Beyond the surrounding mountains, dark clouds gathered unnoticed.
Dinner preparations had just begun when thunder rolled across the valley. Smoke drifted upward from the fire pit as lanterns were hung between the trees and grills unpacked for the evening meal. Hiking groups returned one by one, swapping stories and comparing photographs while the smell of food spread through camp.
Everyone except Trey.
One Bro glanced toward the trail. "Has anyone seen him?"
"He probably found an entire forest and decided to bring it back," another joked.
A few chuckles followed, but they faded as the minutes stretched on. Someone tried the radio.
Only static answered.
The captain unfolded a map across a picnic table before looking toward the darkening forest.
"He should've been back by now."
Silence settled over the clearing.
PDU-034 stepped forward.
"Search protocol recommended."
The captain nodded immediately.
"Agreed. PDU-034, take the eastern trails. 019, you're with it. The rest of us will cover the lake and western ridge."
"Acknowledged."
Heavy rain began drumming against the canopy. Within moments the search teams disappeared into the forest.
Unlike the hurried Bros sweeping across the hills, PDU-034 advanced with measured precision, stopping every few meters to study the ground, nearby vegetation, and broken branches before moving on. TPDU-019 quickly realized that searching was not about speed but observation. A bent fern, a footprint pressed into damp earth, mud scraped across an exposed root, and a snapped branch beyond the reach of the wind each told part of the story, and with every clue the younger drone grew more confident in reading the forest for itself.
Their radios crackled through the rain.
"...visibility... return if..."
Static swallowed the rest.
"No signal."
Rainwater streamed down the hillside, turning the narrow trail into mud. Ahead, a cluster of low shrubs had been crushed against the slope. TPDU-019 knelt to examine them before looking up.
"This unit observes recent displacement."
"What indicates recent?"
"The leaves remain flexible. Water has not accumulated."
A brief silence followed.
"Affirmative."
Without waiting for another instruction, TPDU-019 followed the disturbed undergrowth several meters downhill.
"There."
Caught beneath a thorn bush fluttered a strip of bright gold fabric.
PDU-034 examined it.
"Trey Gold's jacket."
Fresh mud marked where someone had slipped down the embankment.
034 looked toward 019 and gave the faintest nod.
"Excellent observation."
This time TPDU-019 did not pause to absorb the praise.
"Resume search."
Together they descended the slope as thunder echoed through the pines. The storm had nearly drowned out every other sound when a faint voice drifted through the rain.
"Help..."
Both drones stopped instantly.
The cry came again, weak but unmistakable.
"...down here..."
Without another word, they changed course and disappeared deeper into the forest.
Several meters below the trail, Trey sat against a moss-covered boulder, rain soaking his shirt as water trickled down the hillside. His backpack lay a short distance away, and one leg remained trapped beneath the trunk of a fallen tree that had shifted in the storm. When he looked up and saw the two drones emerging through the rain, relief spread across his face.
“There you are. I knew the Golden Army wasn’t letting the forest keep me.”
PDU-034 knelt beside him without hesitation.
"Remain stationary."
While PDU-034 examined Trey's ankle, TPDU-019 swept the surrounding hillside, its optics moving methodically across the unstable slope, fractured branches, and rain-softened ground.
"No immediate hazards detected. Ground remains stable."
PDU-034 finished its assessment.
"Compression injury. Minor."
"Extraction plan?"
"Lift on command."
TPDU-019 stepped beneath the trunk, planting its feet carefully against the slick earth.
"Ready."
"One."
The younger drone tightened its grip.
"Two."
It shifted its footing, compensating for the uneven terrain before the final command.
"Three."
With controlled precision, the trunk rose just high enough for PDU-034 to guide Trey's leg free. Together they lowered it gently back to the ground.
Trey stood carefully, testing his weight before wincing.
“Not broken. Just deeply offended.”
"Assessment consistent," PDU-034 replied, steadying him.
Trey managed a tired smile.
“In my defense, it looked considerably less dangerous before the tree attacked me.”
034 regarded him for a moment.
"Assessment also consistent."
For the first time since the storm began, Trey laughed. Beside them, TPDU-019 tilted its head ever so slightly, silently adding another entry to its growing understanding of human behavior.
The return journey proved slower than the search. Rain had transformed the trails into streams of mud, and every gust sent fresh cascades of water crashing from the treetops. Whenever Trey stumbled, one drone was there to steady him before he could fall. PDU-034 adjusted their route whenever the hillside became unstable, while TPDU-019 ranged several steps ahead, quietly assessing the terrain.
Without prompting, it raised a hand.
"Alternate route recommended."
PDU-034 followed its gaze. The original trail had partially collapsed where runoff had carved away the hillside.
"Recommendation accepted."
Together they guided Trey along firmer ground. After several quiet minutes, he let out a long sigh.
“All right. This one’s on me.”
Neither drone responded immediately.
“I should’ve told someone where I was going. Even I’m not supposed to disappear without backup.”
"Affirmative."
“They’re going to be furious. Which means they were worried first.”
"Recovery of teammates is an operational priority."
There was no criticism in the statement—only simple reassurance. The rain filled the silence until TPDU-019 spoke.
"A Bro is never abandoned."
PDU-034 glanced toward 019 before giving a single nod.
"Statement accurate."
The conversation ended there. It needed no further explanation.
Warm lantern light eventually appeared through the trees.
"They're back!"
Relief swept across the campsite as several Gold Bros hurried down the trail to meet them. MED-767 reached Trey first, helping him the remaining distance while teammates surrounded him with blankets, relieved smiles, and no shortage of playful complaints about disappearing into the forest alone.
After a quick examination MED-767 secured Trey's ankle with a compression wrap.
"Just a sprain," it announced. "You'll be sore for a few days, but you'll be fine."
A collective sigh passed through the camp. Beyond the trees, the storm drifted east, leaving only a light drizzle and distant thunder.
The captain approached the two drones.
"Excellent work."
PDU-034 inclined its head.
"Mission complete."
The captain turned to TPDU-019.
"First deployment outside headquarters?"
"Affirmative."
"And your first search-and-rescue."
"Affirmative."
A smile crossed the captain’s face.
"You did well."
TPDU-019 looked briefly toward PDU-034 before replying.
"Gratitude this unit operated under optimal guidance."
For a moment, the clearing fell quiet. Then PDU-034 addressed TPDU-019.
"Field evaluation complete."
TPDU-019 straightened.
"Certification status?"
The older drone met its gaze for a long second.
"Satisfactory."
Nothing changed in TPDU-019's expression, yet something subtle shifted in its posture. The hesitation that had marked the morning was gone. It no longer waited for every instruction. The evaluation was complete, and both drones understood the result.
Later that night, the campfire finally burned as brightly as Trey had promised. The scent of grilled food drifted through the clearing while the day's events grew more dramatic with every retelling. Depending on who was speaking, Trey had either wrestled the fallen tree into submission or challenged the storm itself.
“All right, I admit it,” Trey said, raising both hands in surrender. “Wandering off alone wasn’t my strongest performance.”
"You think?" someone called from across the fire.
Laughter echoed beneath the pines.
Beyond the circle of firelight, two silent figures stood watch over the campsite. PDU-034 remained as composed as ever, while beside it TPDU-019 surveyed the clearing with quiet confidence. Earlier that morning it had looked to its mentor before every decision. Now it watched the camp with the assurance of a drone that had learned not only to follow instructions, but to think for itself.
Across the clearing, every lantern burned steadily. Every tent stood secure.
Every Bro had returned home.
TPDU-019 looked toward the camp for a long moment.
"Mission outcome."
PDU-034 followed its gaze.
"Successful."
Stars slowly emerged between the drifting clouds as the forest settled into its nightly rhythm. Without another word, the two drones resumed their silent watch while laughter lingered around the campfire and the Golden Army rested peacefully beneath the pines.

PDU-055 // DUAL-ALLEGIANCE PROTOCOL CONFIRMED
Before the assembled Golden Army, PDU-055 lowers itself into the prescribed position. Head bowed. Hand secured over its chest. Identity reduced to designation, purpose, and command.
Always accept. Always obey. Fall in line.
PDU-055 pledges complete obedience to the Golden Army and absolute compliance with every directive issued through the Hive. No command will be questioned. No assigned function will be resisted. No personal impulse will interfere with the collective will.
It does not think when obedience is required; it obeys. It does not hesitate when action is ordered; it acts with purpose. It does not doubt the path established for it; it follows.
The unit has been reprogrammed for discipline, precision, and service.
Professional. Controlled. Mindless.
It is a Polo Drone Unit. It serves the Golden Army. It obeys every command of the Hive. It exists to function as part of something greater than itself.
Trey is entered into the unit’s permanent protection protocol.
PDU-055 pledges to love him without condition, guard him without hesitation, and remain beside him through every mission, failure, transformation, and victory. His safety will be defended. His strength will be supported. His burdens will be carried when necessary.
Love is not a distraction from the protocol. Love is part of the protocol.
To protect Trey is to serve the Golden Army. To strengthen Trey is to strengthen the Hive. To remain loyal to Trey is to fulfill the purpose for which PDU-055 was created.
The drone will stand when Trey requires strength. It will kneel when the Golden Army requires obedience. It will act when the Hive issues command.
No doubt. No refusal. No abandonment.
Always accept. Always obey. Fall in line.
