Me: I should make a ZZZ multimuse to return with
Me, almost a month later: Okay so I'm like 2/3 of the way done -
I might... remake into a ZZZ multimuse to come back in full with
Because there's a few other gals I wanna pick up and play, not to mention a few OC ideas I've had
"I think I vacationed too long... I could barely get my keys into the back door."
@draconicfool: Awoo come play Pathfinder with me
Honestly, if I wasn't super self-conscious regarding my voice, I'd be running/playing campaigns any time I could
Sorry for my lack of activity these past two days
I've been missing my Pathfinder game nights so much that I've been binging Wrath of the Righteous
"...I think this guy just wanted to see me wearing cat ears. While trying to make up with the girl he's got a crush on." A sharp inhale... and a sigh.
"Poor guy's doomed before he even got his foot in the door if he can't help himself like this..."
"...Belle, it was the summer and I was wearing sandals. Are you sure there wasn't actually a plumbing issue or something?" It was true that he usually wore sneakers but it hadn't killed him to wear sandals for a couple weeks until his socks had magically appeared again.
"...Hold on, are we talking about the same incident? Or am I remembering two different events at the same time again?" It was rare, but sometimes her brain did get ahead of itself like that when it came to remembering events far enough in the past. The vaguest of connections in her brain links two separate memories, in bam, a memory that didn't actually happen.
"So the sandals thing... Oh right, I had to catch a dog that ran off with one of them while we were out shopping... Yeah, that was a month before the stink. I don't think I ever figured out what that smell was, though. Wasn't the plumbing, I know I triple-checked that."
@phaethonblue:
"Hey Wise... You know that issue Eros has been having with the Mercurio Familia? I might have an idea on how to help with that." Belle pulls out her phone and begins scrolling, not through the Inter-Knot or social media, but through a news article, until she finds the spot she wanted to show him - a report on a recently busted smuggling operation, believed to have been run by said mafia gang. The goods in question? Some lost tech belonging to a military manufacturing firm still in business for the government. "I did some digging, and they're some real nasty types. Extortion, robbery, money laundering, the works. But they also have a stranglehold on a niche section of the black market - Old Capital artifacts, especially ones that have survived Ether corruption inside Hollows. That'd explain why they're so interested in working with Belobog, given their construction zone runs so close to it. The news about what happened with that old monument had to have piqued their interest. Whether or not the items still technically belong to someone doesn't matter to them; they go hunting, and sell them to collectors throughout New Eridu."
He turned to look at the article when she offered it to him, his eyes scanning the screen. They wouldn't be the first group they'd encountered who were even shadier than the usual Hollow raiders. But Eros didn't have that experience, and he also didn't have the cover of just being regular, helpful citizens when someone like the Mercurio Familia came sniffing around.
"I'm not surprised that it's caught the attention of someone like them," he said. "Especially with Koleda and Grace working to clear her father's name. People now know that the tech he'd been working on exists somewhere in there. And we saw what it could do. All of that would fetch a lot of Dennies..." Even if it wasn't specifically Kors's tech, there was a lot around there to salvage. But now Belobog and PubSec were swarming around there. You'd need an in to get close- or a threat.
"So what did you have in mind?"
"A surprisingly simple solution; we turn their attention elsewhere." Pulling her phone back, Belle shifted windows back to the Inter-Knot, where she showed him a handful of bookmarked posts of people asking Proxies for help. Different usernames, different posts, but all shared a number of commonalities she figured Wise would catch onto quickly - all of them were very clearly written by the same individual with curt and to-the-point language and even similar word choice, all of them brand new accounts used to make only the single post with no comments anywhere, and all of them looking to hire help to "retrieve" an item they supposedly lost in the Hollows.
"They don't have a dedicated Inter-Knot account, but I think you'd agree that these have to all be the same person, right? I messaged a few of the Proxies who accepted these requests, and they all mentioned getting paid by a specific bank account. And then... I might have asked Fairy to investigate where all those deliveries went off to." Putting away her phone, Belle turned to the HDD, where Fairy's telltale symbol was lighting up one of the screens, as the AI's voice chimed in to confirm Belle's words.
"Though the items themselves weren't smart-tech and unable to be tracked remotely, security camera footage throughout the city confirmed all the packages were brought to one singular location - Angeli Bendetti Gaming Parlor. A known front for the Mercurio Familia."
"So, since we only have a few days to get them off Eros's tail, I figure... Why not have him offer Phaethon's services in exchange of Belobog's? Because while I'd personally rather not get involved with them... Well, having a famous Proxy on speed dial for the sort of work they're aiming for should be much more enticing than a construction crew who might not even find anything worthwhile, right?"
"...do you even have 500 Dennies to your name right now?" He was only half joking with that. He was aware of her finances, including how much she spent on coffee and gachapon machines.
"Yeah, well, joke was on you back then, I just went a couple weeks not wearing socks."
"Wait, so that rank stank back then was you?! Ugh, I wracked my brain trying to find an issue with the plumbing, or something!" She was convinced that was some sort of sewage smell. Now she knows never to mess with her brother's socks again. He will get back at her, however unintentionally.
"Well, I guess that was karma coming back to bite me... It's a good thing you didn't get athlete's foot or something."
@phaethonblue
"...Belle, are you the one who rearranged my photo album?" He asks as if anyone else would have done it. Well, they had the Bangboos running around, but he was pretty sure they wouldn't touch it.
He also knew his sister was a giant troll.
"Aw dang it, I had a bet with 18 about how long it'd take you to notice. Now I owe it 500 Dennies." Belle huffs for a brief moment before sighing, shrugging, and quickly shifting back to her usual disposition. Which meant hands folded behind her back, her typical playful smile, and a giggle.
"Sorry, couldn't help myself~ Everything's still there, at least! Not like that time I hid half your socks so you didn't have any matching pairs."

It was rare for Proxies to meet in this business; usually, the only people they ever had direct dealings with were Hollow Raiders, given Proxies usually didn't have too much to offer one another. However, Belle had met another Proxy on the Inter-Knot through comment threads, consistently interacting with one another, striking up a sort of friendship. Or perhaps more of a friendly acquaintance?
She'd hesitate to call them "friends", just yet, but they seemed to get along well enough online... Of course, she'd never revealed she was one half of Phaethon, but that just never really seemed relevant. And yet, she felt she'd established enough of a rapport to privately suggest they meet up to hang out at a later time.
And, to her surprise, they accepted.
Admittedly, Belle had just proposed it as a sort of joke, and yet, she still found herself at the proposed meeting spot on Eighth Street, watching unfamiliar people go by as she scrolled through her phone absent-mindedly. Unconsciously, she nervously tapped her foot, never really having met with another Proxy off the Inter-Knot like this, before, leaving her more than a little awkward. At least, until she saw someone approaching closer, seemingly heading straight for her, so when they got near, she took a chance.
"Hey, uh... You wouldn't happen to be the person I was supposed to meet here, are you?"

"Man, when was the last time you guys had any work done on this poor thing...? I'm surprised you haven't had any issues with how loose half the connectors are in here..." One of the many upsides that Nicole got from having Belle as a girlfriend? Free autobody work on the Hares' car. Or, at least, free work; Belle had made it quite clear that, even if they were dating, the cost for any parts if needed was coming out of Nicole's pocket, but that would be leagues cheaper than taking it to a automotive shop.
The Proxy pulled herself out from under the hood of her girlfriend's car, wiping her forehead off with her forearm, given the gloved hand was holding a ratcheting wrench. Tossing the steel tool into her toolbox unceremoniously, Belle also tugged her gloves off, laying them on the front bumper of the car, before leaning against it.
"Well, no major issues, thankfully. After a look at the engine, the battery, the brakes, and the suspension, I'm at least glad you guys haven't been doing jumps every other day in it. I just gotta do an oil change, but I can get that done after a quick break."
