The logo presented by the bicycle card company is apart of a larger identity system. The spade and the lady inside is meant to place a reminder of history and form a bond. The logo is meant to enact a symbol of power and pride as the very logo belongs to that of an A of spades. This A of a spades was used as a fear tactic in the Vietnam, as many viet cong referred to it as the card of death. The A also is meant y resemble the Statue of Freedom. The ode ty system is meant to sell to Americans as it stands for American pride and freedom.

This design piece, made by illustrator Farley Magadua, represents a past style. The image itself is a evolution of design itself, as the evolution of techniques can be seen in the image. I believe the design is meant to represent that of the ever changing and evolution of technology and art.

This student ID is an example of an iconic representation. The image represents myself, the signified and the signifier, the picture, both resemble me. There is some in resemblance.

These two individual designs are represented as a symbolic function. A symbol is referred to as a relationship between signifiers and dignified determined by a cultural agreement. Furthermore, the two designs have been culturally agreed upon to represent the classification of gender when related to restrooms.

This design is a representation of an indexical function. This a a logo that represents a team referred to as lightning, as seen in the typography.There is also lightning rod grasped in a glove, again referring to the name lightning. Thus a correlation is made and an indexical function is represented due to the dignified word relating to the dignified image.

The denotative meaning, the literal meaning of the design, of this design is an image of a moon and two stick like figures sitting on a bench over seeing the stars. The wording can be defined as “The Reasons why I love you love Amy”

As explain in the film Helvetica, the designed logo of American Air Lines, in Helvetica itself, is a Modernist style of typography.

The font Gill Sans has a smaller x-axis height then that of Fira Sans.

The font Roboto seen in the bottom of the image has a larger x-axis height compared to Times New Roman.

The letter A has a cross bar. This is seen through the line connecting the two linear lines in its characteristic.

The gif represents rhythm. As the gif shows the flipping of a page, it is actually a short snippet of the sports section in my senior year yearbook. Throughout making the book we felt that a sense of rhythm should be shown. This resulted in making the white space a action photo in each sports category.

The image shown is a representation of an active figure-grounded in reality. While the photo shows only half the body of both players our minds are able to analyze the image and interpret the cut off.

The typography stating hockey town champs again relates back to the historical event in which the wings won the cup in 2002. Now being 2008 the typography is referencing back to another time in order to portray the impact of winning once again.

The gestalt principle of closure. While halting the lines that make up a V and by halting the swirl the image of a sun is shown, or at least based on my perception.
